Romney apologizes

I am leaving him on IA. Even during WW.

Well you're a bully. Why don't you hound him from the board in your usual manner? Give him the old superfreak special huh? I feel terrible about the whole thing really. I did my best. But it's really bothering me. I feel like, is there more I could have done? Yes, I admit it, I feel some guilt.

The timing of President Obama's conversion on the Gay Marriage issue was a very carefully timed and orchestrated event. They knew the North Carolina vote was going to be a loss, they had Biden slip up, they knew the story about Romney was going to come out..... As Ive said, it was very Rovian!

And they should have! But according to the story Romney was the ringleader and the one who cut his hair while the others held him down. We dont know if the other class members made amends or not. What is relevant is that Romney did not and ROmney is the one running for President of the United States.

One ran into Lauber in the airport and apologized to him, that guy should run for President!

your assertion that the author lied is just a crazy claim.

LMAO... crazy? He was nowhere in the realm of reality in his original quote. He then deliberately tried to cover it up by changing his article without stating as such. But yeah, crazy claim. serious denial...

But as far as the timing - no I think it was planned.

They apparently came "this close" to getting it side by side on the front page.

Nice work huh? I love it.

From a political hit job standpoint, yeah, nice. It also highlights exactly the type of bias people say is within the media towards one party or another. For him to change his article without stating a correction has been made... he should be fired.

You still haven't proved that any of that happened. If it did, there's no way it won't come out and very soon.

You do realize that the main source of this story is someone who worked on Obama's campaign in 2008? I know you all want to pretend Obama just had no idea about this, so please carry on in your state of denial if you must. The fact that the author lied, the fact that it came out a day after Obama suddenly became pro gay marriage... I know that is just all one big coincidence... right Jarod?

I don't see how one of five witnesses can be considered the "main source," and I don't see the timing as significant at all. The piece is 5,000 words long and wasn't written overnight. Also, why would the President want to squelch the gay marriage announcement. He didn't have to make the announcement at all. And he didn't have to do it in a television interview. It doesn't make any sense.

Edit: So the theory is that this was a hit job to show that Romney hates gay people and president doesn't? Well, you don't really need to go back 50 years for evidence of that.

LMAO... so the screenshot of the Post, CBS copying the article verbatim, ABC correcting the Post... and you don't think that is proof?

serious fucking denial...

Are you saying the story is made up? If some told that story about me and I did not remember having done it, Id call the person out as a liar. If Romney was not afraid some evidence would surface he would have flatly denied it, he did not!

I do not belive it is one big coincidence, but I also do not belive it was the Obama Campaign that went and dug this up.

so the fact that an Obama campaign worker is the main source for the article...

Obviously we all have opinions on this... but I find it very hard to believe that this campaign worker didn't bring this to Obama and then to the Post.

It is also kind of odd that the one prank that was 'really vicious'... happened to a guy who is now dead and can't comment on the story.

The change is insignificant to the story. It doesn't change anything.

It looks like a version was put online yesterday that did not appear in the print paper. The story ran today in the print paper and was updated with the new information about how long this guy has been troubled by the story. I think the WaPo should have noted that the change was made from yesterday's story, but it doesn't really establish much of anything of substance.

Yeah they should have noted it. But I thought he was claiming it had gone to print that way. It's just the usual diversion tactics. They matter to obsessive compulsives on message boards but not at all to the general public.

How is one of five people a "main source" and the guy volunteered in 2008 for the Obama campaign, he's not an Obama campaign worker.

For someone who has his knickers in a twist about someone else supposedly lying, you have an awful tenuous relationship with the truth.

It's a vast liberal conspiracy! Or maybe you're nuts.

Do you think Romney is intelligent?

If not, read no further.

If so, which do you think an intelligent person would choose...

1) Saying he doesn't remember (which causes opponents to go bat shit crazy about you not caring) but that he is sorry if one of his pranks hurt someone.

2) Saying 'it was a prank of a high school kid, I went too far, I apologize for it.'

Which would a sleazy politician do Jarod? What could he possibly gain by saying he doesn't remember? Unless he honestly doesn't remember. There is no gain. If he remembered and was fearful of evidence coming out, he could simply have gone with number 2 above. If he remembered and thought there was no evidence, he could have denied it.

In what case would him stating 'he didn't remember' help him?

2008, why didn't he bring he story out then?

There is a huge inference between intelligence, common sense and a social conscience.

You have to remember where Rmoney comes from. His background is in the corporate world. When in doubt, "I don't remember" is the standard response.
