Romney apologizes

Yeah they should have noted it. But I thought he was claiming it had gone to print that way. It's just the usual diversion tactics. They matter to obsessive compulsives on message boards but not at all to the general public.

lmao... it doesn't matter if the article was on line or in print. It was the on line article that CBS ran with. It was the on line article that ABC corrected. It wasn't a small change. It was a dramatic one. There is a major difference of the story 'haunting' him for 48 years and it haunting him 'for a few weeks since the Post told him about it second hand'. He wasn't even friggin there.

He also changed it AFTER being corrected. He knew others had noticed the inaccuracy based on the ABC report. It is horrid journalism to then change your article without stating it. The fact that you and dung want to divert to 'well gee, it wasn't the print version that he changed' well no fucking shit. If it had already gone to print incorrectly, then we would have ample evidence of it.

Quite funny how you don't care about journalistic integrity.

Way to changed the subject ;)

That's the salient point there. Amazing the equivalency that the village idiot here tries to create...

It's an incredibly stupid correlation bringing up Byrd. If the discussion was Dem support of Byrd v. Repub support of Helms he might be in the ball park but instead he uses it for Romney. What a maroon.

It really doesn't matter SF. I know you think it does, but it doesn't. It never will. It's not going to change anything. It changes something in your mind, but that doesn't matter. It's irrelevant.

Maxwell is a friggin hack for Obama... that much is clear. He gives a different account to each media source he goes to. He is a major source as he is the one popping up on a wide variety of outlets.

"Mitt was a prankster, there's no doubt about it. This thing with Lauber wasn't a prank. This was, well, as a lawyer, it was an assault. It was an assault and a battery. And I'm sure that John Lauber carried it with him for the rest of his life," Maxwell told CBS News. [...] "I've carried this story with me a long time. It was very disturbing. I think that view is shared by everyone involved in it," Maxwell says. "It just was a black mark on my character that I didn't stop it.

"

Really? Didn't stop it? He was the one that held Lauber down.

I am not surprised to find that Dems don't think journalistic integrity matters.

Eh, I think you've got bigger surprises in store for you anyway.

Like how much this story is going to hurt Romney because it extends a narrative, it establishes a true pattern. And it's not one that's going to be all that popular with Americans the majority of whom feel like they've been held down and had their heads shaved lately.

Amen!

Is Maxwell the guy you accused of lying about his voter registration that didn't really lie?

You're back on tilt, SF. Relax. It's not really all that consequential a story.

Just saying I love the "Rmoney", it's perfect.

I didn't coin it. I think it all started with this photoshop:

I love it.

You guys really don't see the strategy here? Obama comes out for gay rights (human rights) one day and the next we have a story about the mormon bashing gays. First impressions are the strongest. And you guys thought the Dems were going to play nice like in yrs past. No more Mr. Nice guy. You've taught us too well.

Mormons don't just shun homosexuality, any Mormon who acts on it instead of remaining celibate is disciplined by the church.

“People inquire about our position on those who consider themselves so-called gays and lesbians. My response is that we love them as sons and daughters of God. They may have certain inclinations which are powerful and which may be difficult to control. Most people have inclinations of one kind or another at various times. If they do not act upon these inclinations, then they can go forward as do all other members of the Church. If they violate the law of chastity and the moral standards of the Church, then they are subject to the discipline of the Church, just as others are."

establishes a pattern? Seriously, you are cracking me up.

I remember still the unkind things I did and the unkind things others did to kids in school. I don't buy his argument that he forgot.

There was also more than one witness.

Definitely, me too. In fact, every time I hear a certain golden oldie it brings up a bad memory.

LMAO... wow, you got me, he wasn't trying to be dishonest at all. Not trying to give the impression that he was an Independent minded person trying to let this 'vicious' story come to light.

The fact that he is a self proclaimed Democrat with no intention of voting for Romney, yeah, nothing to see here.

Back on tilt? You run around screaming about a high school prank from 48 years ago as a distraction from the mess that is Obama and I am the one on tilt. Let me guess, that is the new liberal theme now that this is blowing up in your face.

Uh uh uh...it's not about gay rights. It's about strapping your dog onto the roof of your car, it's about announcing that you "enjoy" firing people, it's about assaulting and bullying gays.

In other words; it's about having no empathy. Being empty.

It's about being a sociopath.

And ole Mitt is going to have to deal with this. He won't be able to. Anyone who has been watching him can clearly see he has no idea how to react to these kinds of things. And there's a reason for that and it's not a good one. So expect a lot more stumbles. Empathy cannot be taught. If you don't have it you can only act it, but this filthy rich fucker never had to even do that.

So he's in trouble because your run of the mill sociopath next door had to act it. And eventually probably got pretty good at it. Romney has no time to get good at something he never had to do.
I think it's also about his mentality. 'Privileged' comes to mind. At the time he was in this prep school, his father was Governor.

Not a thing came of the incident on campus that day, but the victim was eventually thrown out of school for smoking a cigarette. I'm guessing Daddy Romney made a donation to the school.
