Seriously, attempting to say that they mean "Yes, we'll teach it as a scientific theory...." When what they said was "Not necessarily as science..." because they are working to appeal to one special group and give reassurance to another at the same time.
Damo, this is the 21st century. It's imperative in the global market, that America have the best science education possible.
If you're comfortable with the GOP playing word games with creation science, and making veiled promises to re-introduce it into schools in some form to their theocon base, then fair enough.
As for me? It freaks me out that creationism is even discussed as a party issue or party platform.
