Ron Paul and the Alabama straw poll

Hmm few baths, no deodorant, no cold beer, etc....

Mmmm. We could put power generation in the hands of the noble corporations without government to regulate pricing. That would accomplish the no cold beer thing for most people. Let corporations control the local water authorities, also without price regulations. That takes care of the bathing issue, since they could also make us pay any amount they wanted to under the guise of having to maintain the water infrastructure. A bit like cell phone companies charging you fees for basically nothing and making your bill about $20 more than you expected it to be.

Broken records are pretty annoying to listen to, also.

"A system of obligations that bound lords and their subjects in Europe during much of the Middle Ages. In theory, the king owned all or most of the land and gave it to his leading nobles in return for their loyalty and military service. The nobles in turn held land that peasants, including serfs, were allowed to farm in return for the peasants' labor and a portion of their produce."

Think of corporations (you guys made them people, remember?) as the leading nobles with their subjugates working to serve their interests. Pay to use roads, pay exorbitant amounts for mediocre health care (I can see why you like that one), and working within a system wholly owned and controlled by the upper class without safety nets or even safe food to eat.

Sounds a lot like the middle ages to me.

Most excellent post as have been your other posts on libertarians and Paul.

I find libertarians to be the most delusional people I have ever encountered. Most of them can't articulate a coherent policy derived from their own pipe dreams. It's like a string of bumper stickers all lined up leading to nothing.

Government is bad-freedom-liberty-free market-Constitution .. same meaningless bumper stickers with nowhere to go.

America is heading in a far different direction than the land of libertarian myopic dreams.

What was that name? Lindon Laroushe or something like that...
That sounds right.
If elected he could have pardoned himself :)
Of course if he didn't it would simplify the SS's job of guarding him.
Imagine an executive wing in the prison :)
lobbists could stay in the al Capone bedroom ;)

Yeah, here it is with the results of the 1996 Arkansas Primary...

LaRouche, Lyndon H., Jr. D 20,401 6.79

He got a bit over 6% of the vote in Arkansas...

Note, he is a Democrat, not a Libertarian.

Nah, he was a conspiracy theorist.

He advocated for a strong central government, a government takeover of the banks and all infrastructure, and strong regulations.

Definitely not a Libertarian by any stretch.

UhHuh, does not remotely resemble lism. Better resembles statism.

WE did? No sorry.

Sounds a lot like what statism has created. Nothing at all like libertarianism. Libertarians don't believe in special rights for banks or anyone. That's you guys.

Probably right I just rember categorizoing him as a nut case.

We could trade in gold, copper, and silver coins too! That would solve the problem of the government counterfeiting its own currency!

The middle ages were sweet man.

Middle ages? We were doing just that, widespread, as recently as the 1800s. You know what middle ages refers to right or maybe you are ignorant of history?

LMAO.........

Thats punky...he knows about as much in History 101 as he does Science 101...He is forgiven as he has a Reading Disorder...Reading Comprehension 101 was not a great class for punky!
;)

I guess not, I do not pay much attention to those I just categorize as nutcases.
Much more important things to concentrate on.

Well, can you really blame us for being offended when you make the insinuation that our political beliefs put us in league with "nutcases"?

Especially as we are your contemporaries here at JPP/FP.com, you should know better than this.

Umm I think you must realize that some Libertarians are nutcases.

And btw some on here are nutcases. Take AHZ for instance....
