Rosie O'Donnell bribe

Koch Brothers Attempt to Buy Votes on Healthcare
Washington, DC - In an attempt to block the 'American Health Care Act' from passing the House of Representatives, well-funded special interests are promising to raise millions for Freedom Caucus members who vote no.
'The Koch Brothers' offer to make huge contributions to those conservative members of the House who vote against the leadership's healthcare legislation shows once again the deeply corrupting influence of big money in politics,' said Chris Carson, president of the League of Women Voters.
'The American people have long believed that campaign contributions from big money and special interests are bribery, and today's action shows how true it is. 'You give me your vote, and we'll give you the money.' That's just not right,' said Carson.
'This shows once again that the Supreme Court made a tragic and long-lasting mistake in Citizens United when they ruled in favor of the role of big money in American politics,' she said. 'That case changed the landscape of modern politics by ushering in this era of powerful SuperPACS.'

Now Johns can now use the Rosie O'Donnell defense, when they get busted for solicitation and it's been recorded.

"IT WAS A JOKE"

This is a plus for all those "lonely" liberals. :good4u:

the koch brothers were not joking

Are you daft? Do you think an announced "bribe" would be made public? Do you think a politician could publicly accept it? Think about it a little. Bribes are done in secret. Jokes are done in public. This is clearly and obviously a jab at the senators who caved into Trump.

Some people are just stupid. :cof1:

it's illegal to bribe a politician

but if you want to speak to the actual legality of her comments. She's obviously going to argue:

1) she's a public figure, and obviously used to making jokes and commenting on these things, and her comments were not serious
2) she made no serious effort to ACTUALLY bribe a politician, and if she were she likely would have done so in secret
3) the prosecution would have to prove her intentions, or that she took actual material steps to do said bribe beyond just making a random twitter post about it

in short, don't be stupid about this stuff

To make it easy for you people, it was a joke. There is no way you offer a politician a bribe in public and I am sure you can figure out, there was no way they could accept it. Spend a tiny bit of time thinking about it first.

And yet, when Donald J. Trump PUBLICLY asked the Russians if they could find the Hillbag's 33,000 deleted emails, ... it was NOT a joke??? :palm:

Or when he PUBLICLY announced he could shoot someone in the street, ... it was NOT a joke??? :palm:

Rosie lashed out at Ben Shapiro with a typical leftwing man-hating homophobic response..

"In response, Rosie said “suck my dick.”"

Nope. Absolutely not a joke. He was merely saying his followers cannot be moved. You guys are proving that. The Russian emails was a horrible gaff that he tried to cover up later by calling it a joke? Where is the joke? Where is the humor? Where is the non sequitur?" Trump is and was in cahoots with the Russians. That is far too serious to claim it has a hint of humor.

A most excellent post. :good4u:

Rosie is reputed to have a 140 IQ. She won Celebrity Jeopardy. She has a fantastic memory and several people called her on Millionaire. Did your phone lines burn?

Corporations are obviously and clearly not people. That is a stupid construct of the plutocrats and put in place illegally by the Supreme Court. Looked through the obits today, and no corporation died. None get sick. They don't have children. They don't have feelings. The whole concept is insulting. It was done to give them more rights than a company should have.
