The government does not do that. Our medical system is privatised. It works on maximizing profits so the top bosses can get super rich. They have been consolidating facilities and merging with other Medical Corporations for decades.

That's happened where I live. Medical City is taking over all the facilities, consolidating doctors and clinics. Presumably in an effort to become efficient.

Having been a volunteer Firemen and a EMT I know what it takes to provide firetrucks and emergency equipment and in this area usually about 60 to 70% of the money needed to purchase these thing are raised by our fire companies , I have been on fund raising drives for longer then you have been alive..

Our fire depts. are independent from government run fire depts. and are incorporated for ins. reasons and they do get some help to buy their equipment but they raise the majority ( 70/75% )of the funds to buy trucks and other equipment on their own.
And as I said I have been helping raise those funds since I was about 10 years old and have been a qualified First aid/ EMT instructor since I was 11 years old.
I know what I am talking about I have been there and done that.
