Sarah Barracuda!

'McCain campaign manager Rick Davis earlier complained that the media has focused too much on 44-year-old Palin's personal life. Many of those stories came after McCain's campaign announced that Palin's unwed 17-year-old daughter was pregnant.

"Why would we want to throw Sarah Palin into a cycle of piranhas called the news media that have nothing better to ask questions about than her personal life and her children?" Davis said on "Fox News." "So until at which point in time we feel like the news media is going to treat her with some level of respect and deference, I think it would be foolhardy to put her out into that kind of environment."

Leave Britney alone!

The media has a job to do in a democracy, and it's an important one. The whining about the "vicious treatment" of Palin has reached truly epic proportions. Every candidate goes through it.

No, not every candidate goes through anything of the sort. Obama hasn't, and he has been quite clear on how he feels about bringing family into the fray. When Michelle was criticized over public speeches she made, he blew a fuse and demanded it stop, because she is his wife, and should be off-limits. And this wasn't even a matter of personal privacy, this was public speeches! I know for a fact, Biden's kids have been in trouble with the law, should we trot out all the sordid details of that, and suggest Biden should stay at home to raise his kids?

I agree with him, if the Liberal Media just wants to turn Palin into Britney Spears, hell no... she won't do it! She can pick and choose where to be interviewed, just like Hillary did, and just like Obama does, and she can avoid being made a spectacle of over her personal life. Meanwhile, more and more Americans gather in her corner in her defense against the slimeball politics, typical of the career politicians, Obama and Biden.

Now, take a look at the board today... see how the personal attacks on her family has all but stopped by the left... they got the memo! You all understand that was not helping you one bit, and word went out to stop it immediately, and for the most part, you have. It's another reason I think it was a brilliant move by McCain, he knew of all this personal stuff when he picked her, and he knew you pinheads would trot it all out there and make yourselves look like the hypocritical fools you are! He probably picked up a few points right there, and this was a tight race.

Biden was grilled about his kid yesterday on Meet the Press.

Much of what you in particular have complained about has to do with some of the more personal attacks leveled against Palin by left-wing blogs, and has nothing to do with the MSM.

If we're going to start including the blogs, do you really want to go there, as far as "comparing" the treatment of the candidates? The blogs have shredded Obama with slander, as well as Michelle.

You seem to have the two mixed up. The MSM, by & large, has been fair with Palin. At this point, the GOP has even them running scared, and they're not doing their job when it comes to vetting her. The whining about it has gotten out of hand.

Get this straight Pinhead, I am not complaining! I want you to keep it up! The more you wallow in the gutters with details regarding Palin's personal life, the further ahead she soars in the polls, and the more your chances of winning the White House slip away, so please.... by all means... keep it up!

I like what was said earlier about 'vetting' her... When it's a liberal candidate, it's "smear" but when it's a conservative, it's "vetting!" The process of vetting is used to determine if a candidate is qualified for selection, this has been done already by McCain, it was his choice to make, not the MSM. They have no business 'vetting' any goddamn body... they need to be 'vetted' themselves!

Oh, okay. A candidate who is going to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency shouldn't get any media scrutiny, because McCain (who had a 15 minute meeting w/ her) and his crack team (who arrived in Alaska a day before he picked her) already "did the job." Well, that makes me feel all warm & fuzzy & reassured.

And please don't pull the "what...me complain?" routine. It's silly after the dozens of posts you have on here to the contrary.

LOL... I posted a thread asking if it was now okay to put the candidates families back on the table... that's not a complaint, it's a rhetorical question! Every thread I've posted in regarding this, I have clearly said, I think you are making a grave mistake in attacking Palin personally. I stand by that assessment, and I think your party is now starting to realize it themselves, because the tone has definitely shifted in the past few days. I'm not complaining about it, I think it's a stupid boneheaded mistake and miscalculation made by pinheads, that's not a complaint. Pointing out your sexism, double-standards, and hypocrisy is not complaining either, so I really don't know where you get that I am "whining and complaining" about something here, I am really not at all.

As for vetting, I am sure McCain has spent more time vetting his pick than you can imagine in your little pea-brained pinhead, and I don't recall the media being involved in the selection of your candidate's VP, or any other VP candidate in history for either party, for that matter. The media is not responsible for picking the running mates of presidential candidates, and neither are the washington pundits or the daily kos. That pick is made solely by the candidate, and if you don't like who they pick, you don't have to vote for them. Scrutiny is fine, as long as it is warranted and done in a fair and balanced way by the media, it's not fair to scrutinize Palin for something you aren't willing to scrutinize Obama or Biden on, like what kind of parent are they to leave their kids at home while they peruse their political careers!

"like what kind of parent are they to leave their kids at home while they peruse their political careers!"

What MSM outlet did that?

MSNBC's Pinhead Roundtable raised the question the day of her speech to the RNC. It has been mentioned in several CNN 'reports' as well. I love how Pinheads suddenly get amnesia when called on the carpet for something they did. Give it another week, and you will spin this into... Karl Rove put out all those stories about Palin because he knew it would turn people against Obama! ...It's coming, I just know it is! Desh will have links to the blogs where this 'breaking news' happens, wait and see!

i would not waste my time doing such

she may be the darling of the conservative christian coalition but can she garner enough support to appeal to enough reps

i do not know or care

the nation has enough problems that require attention now

I had to. Just for old time's sake.

Hey, be my guest! Get used to the name, it hasn't gone away... not by a long shot. All day today, I have heard it repeated over and over by right-wing pundits.... speculating whether she might run in 2012. It's too soon to be thinking about it, and it's too soon to tell... but I will bet you haven't heard the last of her on the national stage.

oh please, with all the garbage that has come out about how inept this woman was, you are STILL holding on to her as the republican messiah?

don't you think that the sane response, politics aside, is, "wow we dodged a bullet there".

Indeed I do. McCain's health would have been the only thing standing between us and President Palin. (that was hard to type)

Given the tight time-frame of learning one member of NAFTA per year i think 2012 may come a little too soon for Sarah Palins.
