Sarah Palin Endorses Rand Paul for U.S. Senate

By the way, since I sort of brought this up on the thread about taxes (or the thread that WAS about taxes), I just want to say that Rand Paul, just like his father, is not perfect.

You hear me? This guy I'm supporting wholeheartedly is absolutely not perfect.

I disagree with some of the ways he's gone about representing some of our common ideas. I even disagree with him about some of his ideas entirely and don't share them.

But he is going to make an exceptional Senator and the best contribution to the highest deliberative body in the land in a very, very long time.

That's why people should support him, and that's why Sarah Palin, and her supporters, and me, and people who disagree on lots of different things, can still reach a consensus that this candidate can help move the country in the right direction.

Adam is a libertarian when it comes to destroying the borders to manipulate the labor market, but not when it comes to letting the sun shine in on the activities of the diabolical federal reserve.

See? I don't object to everything Sarah Palin does:

http://www.randpaul2010.com/2010/02/sarah-palin-endorses/

With each day the possibility of a Senator Paul seems more and more a reality.

But he could be named Senator Nobody for all I care. It's the ideas that matter, and Rand Paul's got 'em.

How nice for you.

If you had been paying attention to what she has been saying, you'd know she said she would be was raising money for small government conservative candidates.

You bought into the media's bias and so you dismissed her.

Well, I listen to what everyone says, and then I see if their actions follow through. There are other Palin endorsements I would disagree with that you might think are small government endorsements.

I think small government has a specific formula, and it's not just to promise cutting taxes or spending. It includes changing the trend in Washington about foreign policy and the use of government power.

You're retarded. You don't even know what my views are on either of those issues.

In what way does the trend in washington need to change?

How does small government involve government power?

Well, the current foreign policy view hasn't changed under Republicans or Democrats. That's a trend, buckaroo, and someone's got to break it.

And you get small government by giving government less power and restraining it more.

...You get it?

Yet I usually embarrass you into fleeing the board from shame.

No, I'm embarrassed for you and when, if ever, I've left our discussions, it's in recognition of the fact that I have much better things to do.

Like meeting with the ZOG to talk about how we're going to continue keeping you down.

Yeah. You go tell on me to your Secret Sabbatean illuminati controller! Tattle tale!

There are different reasons for wanting small government. Internationalists want small government so the people cannot be protected from the selfish market manipulations of international corporations, so there is no possible recourse when they decide to collapse the economy and enslave the people.

So, let's hear who those small government conservative candidates are and why they are the wrong choice, unlike Rand? Palin is ALL about changing the the trend in WA. That's why elites from both parties attack her.

Something Sarah Palin stresses in nearly every speech she has given.

As I said before, Palin has been demonized by the media and the left, and many people simply don't realize they have been brainwashed. As another thread puts it, you don't like Palin and you're not sure why. We just see the media, the left, and yes, even the establishment republicans, lambasting her on a routine basis, and it collectively has an effect on perception.

To be fair, Adam, much the same thing happened to Ron Paul. Here's a great American with great ideas, but the media cast him as a kook, an extreme candidate, and the negative perception was formed. We have to stop listening to the media and what pundits tell us about the candidates, and actually start listening to what they have to say.

Ron Paul has been vindicated because people know the message he is communicating has been consistent...for 30 years. When he was running for President at first he couldn't get on TV if he tried, and now he's a staple.

He's easily the most famous member of Congress today after the leadership members. And it's the consistency and the depth that has them calling him back...in addition to ratings.

Sarah Palin can do the same thing. If she spends the next couple years going around and talking a solid game and then demonstrates it by endorsing candidates who actually do those kinds of things, then she'll be vindicated too. Not by everyone. But by enough people.

Adam, how does the foreign policy view need to change in washington, according to you? This is an honest question.

I think it is an insult to Paul and his ideas to claim he has been vindicated. He certainly didn't get anywhere with his last presidential campaign, he finished back of the pack. His problem isn't his ideas, or what he says... it's perception, a mostly false perception, built by the media and his detractors. It is the same thing that has happened to Sarah Palin, the media has forged a perception and it has stuck with the public. It has nothing to do with ideas or what they say, it is the constant brainwashing bombardment of talking heads, telling us "Sarah Palin is too shallow... Palin lacks experience... Paul is one of those nutty libertarians... FRINGE candidates!" We hear it over and over, and our perception is formed, whether we like it or not. In a way, it is subliminal, and we seem to be completely oblivious to it.

You are correct, it is through things like this, that people overcome the perceptions and stigmas. You have probably come a long way in how you view Sarah Palin, based on this endorsement alone. At the least, you are now open to listening to Palin without the bias of the media perception. Palin supporters couldn't get you to do that just a few weeks ago, but now you can. Think about it, what changed? Sarah Palin's message is still the same as it's always been, the media certainly hasn't relented in their false perceptions, and she hasn't said anything new to "win over" libertarian types. Actions sometimes speak louder than words, and that is what happened here.
