Seattle is dying

I seen this first in NYC when reagan & carter to a lesser extent "liberated" the mentally ill, essentially closing the mental institutions & throwing the mentally ill out on the streets for society to deal w/.........

You have a place you want to put them??? What is your solution?? I would really like to hear it...

Liberating the mentally ill was a poorly thought out leftist plank snowflake.

1963
President John F. Kennedy signs the Community Mental Health Act to provide federal funding for the construction of community-based preventive care and treatment facilities. Between the Vietnam War and an economic crisis, the program was never adequately funded.

1967
The California Legislature passes the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act, which makes involuntary hospitalization of mentally ill people vastly more difficult. One year after the law goes into effect, the number of mentally ill people in the criminal-justice system doubles.

1000 people move to Seattle every week stop being a stupid fuck. there is plenty in the media about Seattle being the fastest growing city in the country stop being a stupid fuck. the average family income in Seattle is over twice the national average stop being a stupid fuck.

How do you know? Argument from randU fallacy. Insult fallacy.

That's nice, I am happy for you.. We all rest a lil better knowing you are safe.... :)

Did you actually have a comment on the topic or just trolling from your safe place today??

WOW; you don't troll from your safe place snowflake?

What happens to a once thriving city after extreme liberalism gets a stranglehold over it.
Portland has been this way for at least two decades (when I first saw it).
San Francisco's there, San Diego went to shit, L.A. has always been a cesspool.
Our mayor and city council are hell bent on turning Anchorage into one, we're well on our way.

Hasn't Seattle benefitted from the robust Trump economy?

Seattle is a tech town full of techies from all over the world. It has been the fastest growing city in the US. The Seattle is Dying thing is from a Sinclair Station so just pandering to stupid right wing morons like you see on here

Do some of the people in this article just speak for all leftists, or what?

https://www.city-journal.org/seattle-elites-homeless-crime

Seattle’s activist class seems, then, to have more compassion for transient criminals than for the victims of their crimes. Lindsey’s story should be a clarion call for everyone who cares about violence against women. But in the tortured logic of intersectionality, the story of a homeless rapist demands “context,” while the white, blonde, middle-class target of his assault is an unsympathetic victim.

Lindsey’s story reveals a fault line opening between elite opinion and public opinion. Most private citizens praised Lindsey as a heroic survivor and echoed her call for greater safety at homeless encampments. They should reflect on the likelihood that their leaders’ contempt for her extends to them, too. The more Seattleites who come to that conclusion, the more likely we are to see change.
Progressivism gone wild.
From what I've seen , once a city gets taken over by 'progressives' there's no going back. It attracts more scum driving out decent folks, the scum continues to elect more 'progressives' and the cycle continues. It's a positive feedback loop.

I'm seeing it happen in Anchorage.
Luckily I'll be gone from here withing a yr and half, maximum.
Ironically I'll be in somewhere in the Puget Sound area but fortunately it's big enough to find good communities.
