Senate approves historic legislation to protect same-sex marriages

Yes, it does. They know lots of right-wing states will not allow it.

That does not mean they favor those policies just because some states will enact them. Some have a higher loyalty to the Constitution than to their own policy preferences.

And, in some cases, the policies do not actually prohibit it. For example, the Dobbs case was about the MS law that prohibits abortion after 15 weeks. About 96-97% of abortions occur before 15 weeks.

take all those deficits......add them together.......include the deficits of every other president ever elected.......now double it......we call that the Obama presidency......

Your math sucks.

Debt is the accumulated deficits that haven't been paid off. Debt assigned to Presidents is usually calculated on fiscal years. Fiscal years start in October. A President normally signs the budget for the year they leave office. Budget is due in October of 2008 for Fiscal year 2009. Incoming President signs spending in October of 2009 for fiscal year 2010.
Obama would be responsible for debt from years 2010-2018, Trump for 2019-2022

But just to humor you and show how silly your math is we will use your link that uses end of year debt.
https://www.thebalancemoney.com/national-debt-by-year-compared-to-gdp-and-major-events-3306287
We will ignore that the President doesn't take office until a month after the debt in December and doesn't affect any spending until they actually sign a spending bill.

Debt at end of 2008 - $10,025 (All numbers expressed in billions of dollars)
Debt at end of 2016 - $19,573
Obama did not add double the previous debt, let alone the debt for all other Presidents combined as your idiotic post claims. Perhaps you just don't know how math problems are expressed. Perhaps you meant to say Obama added almost the same as all previous Presidents except that isn't what you said.

But now lets look at the Trump years.
Debt at end of 2016 - $19,573
Debt at end of 2020 - $27,748
Trump's debt for only 4 years was - $8,175
We add up the deficits of all Presidents not called Obama or Biden and we get a total debt of $18,200
Debt added during Obama years - $9,548
The debt added during Obama years is not double the other Presidents combined, It isn't even equal the other Presidents combined. Obama's spending over 8 years looks pretty cheap compared to the spending for 4 years of Trump.

Abortion was not a problem in revolutionary days. https://www.plannedparenthoodaction...tral-history-reproductive-health-care-america The constitution is silent on abortion.

It could but it wouldn't be true. Biden seems determined to replicate the energy disaster in California nationwide.

How so? We are pumping more oil today than we have ever done in history. Blew away the record set under Trump. Right now under BIDEN!

The Constitution is silent on all personal behavior. It is up to federal or state legislation to regulate behavior unless it is a "right" the Constitution prohibits government from restricting.

This is not revolutionary war days (I don't understand your point).

Abortion has been around forever. It was never a problem until the Christian taliban made it one. States should not have the power to legislate personal harmless choice and make it a crime.

I think the trend to make abortion illegal was because it was not as medically safe at the time.

The Constitution gives the states the power to legislative "health, safety, welfare, and morals." The states legislate many examples of "personal harmless choice and make it a crime. I'm sure many of those examples would be debatable about whether they are harmless, but that is a choice for the state as long as it does not violate constitutional rights.

It also doesn't matter whether people want to prohibit the behavior for religious or strictly political reasons. Marijuana or other drugs are illegal in many states; for some, it may violate a person's religious beliefs while others simply oppose it as a negative factor in society. Sex with minors is opposed for religious reasons but also for non-religious reasons. Everybody who opposes abortion does not do so because of religion--I know atheists who oppose abortion.

That two men or two women marrying each other is an abomination.

The legalization of perversion and deviancy.
