What do you mean by restructure? Republicans will never agree to raise the SS age. What else are you going to do, smoke and mirrors?

Forget Republicans and Democrats. I'm asking Jarod his personal opinion between what is a reasonable cut vs. a harmful cut. If the penny is the only cut in the federal budget that you deem reasonable then fair enough, you are entitled to hold that opinion. It just shows that you don't want to cut anything.

So you wont give me any examples of what I asked.... You want to change the subject from what cuts Republicans will agree with to what Jarod's opinion is about whats a reasonable v. harmfull cut.

Ill go there with you once you admit you have no examples or give me something other than general cuts.

I have absolutely no idea what the Republicans would agree to.

Go back to your post 19. You said Obama wanted "reasonable" cuts. They only reasonable cut we've seen is the penny. So that's the only cut Obama wants?

the whole sequester hoopla is bullshit......driving home from work I heard someone on NPR say that sequestering was going to cause an across the board 9% cut in defense spending and that they were going to furlough civilian defense workers.......given that the $50+ billion that's coming out of defense is less than 1% of defense spending why does the idiot think its going to cause a 9% reduction across the board?.......

I personally support working with Obama, as he promised, on a line by line basis and cutting unnecessary programs and waste, the CBO says that the Executive Branch (they run the program) wastes $125 Billion per year in Health Care alone. Let's start there.

The sequestration, according to the CBO will "cut" $42 Billion this year, not $85 Billion. (in this report: http://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/cbofiles/attachments/43907-BudgetOutlook.pdf if you want to know where in that report look at the deficit estimates: $845 billion with sequestration and $887 billion without sequestration).

I'm pretty sure we can find enough in just waste to clear that 0.12% (about what $44 Billion will "cut") off the books without much effort at all, and even with that "cut" we still will spend more this year than last.

Instead, what we'll get is an ideologue who will present people he chooses to furlough as reasons why we can't cut waste.
