This country has no effective laws to prevent people from stockpiling near military-grade weapons and ammo, and it is fairly easy for mentally ill people to buy weapons and ammo in this country, especially if they have dodged diagnosis and treatment..

IMO, it's delusional to believe banning all guns will cure the violently mentally ill much less the suicidal.
Secondly, it's against the principles of our nation to restrict rights and freedoms by banning things be it abortion, gay marriage, plural marriages or firearms.
Going on three years of COVID is producing more violence and more suicides. This is a mental health issue, but all the Democrats care about is banning guns. They pad their numbers with suicide deaths and whine about high capacity magazines when over 25,000 Americans die each year to a single shot.
The Democrats don't give a fuck about the other 25,000 Americans who commit suicide with a rope, drugs, gas or anything else not a firearm.
Until the focus turns to better mental health care, We the People will continue seeing random acts of violence by nutjobs.
