hardly. I find it amusing that you flip flop just like alias. you just seem to be caught between guns and pot. hating on the po po about the drug war, but licking up all the drops about government officials comments, ballistics experts, and guns are bad. maybe we should tell you which way is up?Oh the whittle klan cow tipper is mad.
does every idiot hoplophobe think NRA members are klansmen?Oh the whittle klan cow tipper is mad.
Question: One day, as a teen, I was sitting in a field with a friend. We'd walked a long way through fields and decided to take a rest. I heard a shot or two and assumed some hunters were around. Then I heard a "buzz" sound, sort of like a fly quickly passing by my ear. I turned around and saw someone standing in the neighboring field far enough away I couldn't make out any features, just a figure. My question is how close would the bullet have been to my head to enable me to hear it go by? Anyone have any idea? I was told less than 6 inches.
depends on the speed of the round. fast enough and you could hear it whiz by at about 20 feet away. and if it was wobbling through the air, maybe further.
Its reacting to gravity as soon as it leaves the muzzle. Shot on a horizontal path, a projectile will hit the ground at the same time that a similar object dropped from the same height hits the ground.
Here is my question. It is very easy to check if a muzzle loader is loaded. All you do is drop the rod in, if it doesn't go all the way down you know it is loaded. How could he be cleaning it (which would involve using the rod) and not notice it was loaded?
This sounds more like a guy who shot his gun into the air recklessly than it does somebody who accidentally shot his gun while cleaning it...
No, the DNC.Is every klansman also in the NRA?
You're the one looking for an argument, and now I know why.I wasn't trying to imply that it didn't.
Are you just looking for something to argue about; just because I don't hold to your outdated views on gay marriage?
There using "cleaning" in a very general sense Damo. He shot off the round to clear it/clean it from the muzzle. That wasn't an accident. The fact that the bullet came back to earth and struck a girl in the head and killed her was an accident. A damned careless verging on criminal wrecklessness accident. Here is my question. That's my understaning too.Its reacting to gravity as soon as it leaves the muzzle. Shot on a horizontal path, a projectile will hit the ground at the same time that a similar object dropped from the same height hits the ground.
I hear ya man. It's common class 101 muzzle loader safety. When your done hunting you clear the chamber by discarging it into the ground or into a backstop. You never, ever, ever under any circumstances discharge it into the air.Don't they have hills in Ohio? Why not shoot it into the side of a hill?
No kidding. When we do our annual 4th of July shootout with our redneck friends here, shooting every gun that we own at least a chamber full, we always shoot into the hill. Ye hah!I hear ya man. A ball and charge can be mechanicaly removed from a muzzle loader before cleaning...it is simply faster and easier to discharge the weapon instead. Either way, the gun must be unloaded before cleaning can commence.
I have had this same argument with my son repeatedly.
IIRC, terminal velocity is 130 mph. Therefore regardless of the angle of inclination, a ounce round lead ball going 130 MPH is freaking deadly.
As to the perpetrator, at a minimum, he should be indicted for manslaughter, and sued in civil court as well. No way the dumbass should walk away from this.
