Should a city be punished for selecting a mayor the president does not like?

Interest rates go up when inflation is high and down when inflation comes down. Interest rates are falling because Trump is reducing inflation. Wage growth was non-existent during the Biden administration.
Interest rates are down because the Fed lowered its prime rate.

If Trump were reducing inflation...he would not look like a blimp.

Should those consequences include punishment from the federal government, for eliminating someone the president dislikes? Should the federal government be allowed to try to control city governments?

What's the factual basis of your complaint today, Brad?

I’m no fan of pure socialism, but I have no problem with a city whose people want to inject more socialism into their local government choosing to do so.

Trump has introduced levels of socialism/marxism into the US already such that the US has never seen before and a far more dangerous type from a moral hazard standpoint.

he is getting the US government into permanent equity stakes in Corporations which has always been called 'Picking winners and Losers' in business. Now with the US gov't having an Equity stake in Intel, if the government has to award a major contract in that area but Intel is NOT the best provider with the best technology, do they get the contract anyway because it will boost the gov't equity stake value? What if Intel will fail if it does not get contracts? Do they low Intel to over charge? Not take competitive bids?

That is how gov'ts end up with second rate solutions that actually cost even more over time and lead to US decline.

So any tears over a handful of gov't run grocery stores that NO ONE has to shop in, is just magats being magats and complaining about the mouse while ignore the elephant Trump has unleashed.

No relevance or context to a current political event in the news, Brad?

Just a random example to add to your loquacious litany of lamentation?
I disagree, look at the real news if you want an education.
One wants to seize the means of production and the other doesn't. Want to guess which is which.

You need to educate yourself a bit better. We have a socialist energy system in America, energy is a means of production.

Disjointed random ramblings?

What's the relevance of the topic of your thread, Brad?
