Tough for me to say, TOP--there are no young kids even remotely associated with my life any more,
so my interest in their affairs is limited
and that makes me the wrong one to ask, I would guess.

I have no idea why we need the National Anthem played at sporting events, however.
I wouldn't make a big deal out of objecting to it,
nor would I be disappointed if the practice were discontinued to avoid the controversy.

did you suddenly forget the context in to which I was referring to? Should hardship ever happen and people, who once felt that this wouldn't ever happen to them and therefore never bought a firearm, would try to use the second best and second cheapest option, that of a bow and arrow

Like the USA? We have a pretty big public sector running concurrently with our private one from what I can see.
Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, the Veterans Administration, unemployment insurance, plus all the public sector departments of government.

I'd like to see it [the public sector] even more comprehensive, and I'd like to see our private sector finally get adequate regulation.

That's the old, classic definition of a Democrat, not all of this "woke" nonsense pandering to the hypersensitive.

A lot of people like the national anthem played at sporting events... we had a little boombox that played it right before all of our indoor swim meets... I believe the particular controversy I mentioned came as a result of girls and Families who are military st events where it wasn't being played...
Very passionate discussions took place so it'll be interesting to see what happens.. these parents pay 25 grand just for kindergarten and tuition goes up with each grade level so it'll be interesting to see what happens... the kids could be getting an outstanding education just a mile away and have the national anthem played at home games so if things don't change I bet our high school's population will increase...lol... who needs to pay that much for private school anyway... though they do have a formal dining room for lunch...;))
Young people are our future... You need to be a little bit interested.... you did just tell me you've got a bit more time to go ..;) You might be surprised at how much your life is affected by young people if only indirectly... even though you may not always realize it...

My problem with playing the national anthem at any sporting events is that although people remove their hats and stand still, some even sing along, majority are doing anything but focusing on the purpose of playing it, it belittles the anthem itself

the delusions you leftists employ to ignore reality is almost laughable. I know many people on social security, medicare and medicaid, who use the VA, who have had to deal with unemployment insurance, and many other public sectors of government and they all have one thing in common. They are absolute shit to work with. It is excellent proof that socialism does not work. But I digress........WHEN those systems fail and leave millions of people without a means to survive, what are they then going to do if they've never been taught how to survive on their own?
