American Indian reservations are autonomous from state governments but subject to federal regulation. They are governed by their own tribal governments, which are recognized by the federal government. However, federal law still applies to reservation lands, and the federal government holds title to the land in trust for the tribe.

And THAT makes them citizens of the United States and of their tribe (and the confederation of tribes, if any), but NOT of the State(s) where the reservation is located.

Thus, a child of Squamish parents is a citizen of the Squamish tribe, and the Tulalip confederation of tribes, and of the United States, but NOT of the State of Washington.

Thus...they get to vote for their confederate leaders, and for federal elections, but cannot participate in electing any State officers, including the governor. (Squamish leaders are not elected)

The courts have jurisdiction over ALL cases and all controversies involving the United States. If there is a question about foreigners being in the US then that is a controversy that involves the US which means that the Constitution says US Courts have jurisdiction. That means that the courts have jurisdiction over foreigners in the US which clearly shows that the foreigners are subject to the jurisdiction of the US and US courts. If the courts have no jurisdiction then the US can't deport them since the US would have no jurisdiction.

I did.

The United States of America is NOT America (a continent).

People born in Mexico, Canada, El Salvador, Brazil, etc. are citizens of America.
NONE of them are citizens of the United States (unless the immigrate here and apply for and are granted citizenship).

While the argument seems to center around the 14th amendment (which does not grant citizenship to anyone, and IBD is currently locked in a paradox on this), everyone seems to be ignoring Articles I and II, which gives CONGRESS authority to determine when and how citizenship is granted, and the President authority to enforce the laws of Congress.

What tends to get forgotten here is that Biden broke most of the immigration laws, and committed an act of treason by inviting an invasion of the United States.


Now, as to what happened in Florida (which this thread is actually about!):

Florida State troopers conducted a traffic stop. They imprisoned the driver (unlawfully) for being an 'illegal alien' entering Florida (from Georgia??), using a 'law' passed in the State of Florida, which attempted to usurp the authority of the United States and Congress. That law is unconstitutional. Florida has NO authority to usurp the authority of the United States in enforcing and protecting it's borders. Only Congress and the President have that authority.

The man spend 24 hours in a jail before being released via federal court order. He has ample grounds to sue the State of Florida. He is a citizen of the United States and of the State of Georgia.
