imho Damo had gone pretty much to the middle in a reasonable area towards the end of the Bush presidency. He had realized what a fool Bush was and that Bush had harmed America.
But since Obama took office Damo has moved more towards the right. The right that he was dissatisfied with pre Obama.

This is just bad personal judging skills.

I was angry at Bush for spending us into stupid, I was angry at Bush for stepping into Education where the Feds have no power and shouldn't. I was angry at Bush for the stinking pill bill... I was angry at Bush for undeclared Nation Building wars... but none of that made me other than a Conservative with Libertarian leanings in social issues and in constitutional issues.

What I am stunned about is the sheer numbers of people so willing to lap up what they hated about Bush in this new administration. Frick Bush set up a line for people to report actual terrorist behavior to a law enforcement agency and people freaked. This is a whole new territory. Much like the "we'll still listen, but you can't sue now" stance for warrantless wiretapping and other junk put out by this admin...

Just tort reform on the can't sue.

Perhaps bad personal judging skills on my part. But you are thinking about it now.
I have done what I set out to do.

If you will recall I was always against the paranoi driven Patriot act.
I am still against it. But it is sort of a borg thing. No matter which party or what resistance is pretty much futile. Govt and business both want all of our information.

And you may recall that I was also against the PATRIOT act... During the time it was passing I was saying things you will hear me say now...

Slow down... Crisis legislation is almost unerringly horrific law that we shouldn't be putting on the books... We need to take a moment and do this right because this legislation will effect us for a long time time to come if not forever... We shouldn't be giving up liberties for security, it's a false trade... on and on...

I think it is the duty of every libertarian and conservative to report the crap being spewed forth by Pelosi and Company.

Every time they say 'mob' we send them the quote. Every time they say they are saving money on this plan we send them the quote (along with the CBO quote saying they are full of shit). and so on...
