IMO all this is against the law and the Constitution.
But what does Trump know about the Constitution and the OATH he took to uphold and defend it.
Again if the Republican Senators had upheld the OATH they took to vote only on the evidence presented at Trumps impeachment we wouldn't be having this problem now. McConnell and several Senators even came out and said the evidence did show he did what he was charged with but they were not going to vote to remove him from office.
