I am guessing you don't know what the word "elect" means which is used multiple times in describing how the government will work. The writers of the Constitution were well aware of what and how a representative democracy works. They were also aware that they were setting up a representative democracy. Redundant. A republic is government by law. In other words, a constitution. To say 'constitutional republic' is redundant.
