I used to be of that mindset, but due to some unique circumstances, was basically forced to watch the prequels many times.

They grew on me. They all had major flaws, and I completely prefer the special effects from decades ago to CGI, but I appreciate the story they tell at this point much more than I did.
 
Phantom Menace was definitely the worst of the lot. The 3rd one is really good, though.

When they put the mask on Annakin & Darth starts breathing w/ that signature sound - chills.

Truth be told, the first one was so fucking bad the second one had to be phenomenal for me to watch the third and it wasn't so I didn't. Maybe I'll check it out.

The 3rd is the big payoff - definitely worth at least one viewing. I've grown to really like it, though 4,5 & 6 will always be head & shoulders above.

And yeah, I'm proud to be a Star Wars nerd. Don't get me started on Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.

The third was the best of the prequels... that said, the douche they got to play Anakin does detract from the movie as he is a horrible actor.

Star Wars, Harry Potter, LOTR... even the new Star Trek (the old Trek is horrid)...

To go totally nerd... did anyone see the movie Enders Game?
 
The old Star Trek movies are a little cheesy, but "Wrath of Khan" and the one w/ the whales were both really entertaining.

The new ones w/ Chris Pine rock.

They were terribly cheesy, that is why I loved them!

The new ones are very well done! Not as fun to watch stoned. Lol
 
i have never seen a star wars movie all the way through, that said, the nerdchat surrounding the new star wars movie is decently optimistic. jj abrams is doing it, the same guy that did the latest star trek movies and a bunch of other stuff, and he has a lot of cred. so we'll see. in any case, even if the movie sucks it'll probably still make bank.
