1. I showed you how the two counties which comprise District 21 voted and so far you haven't been able to provide any numbers to counter what I provided...if you've got numbers that dis prove what I claimed, then by all means let's have them.

2. Yes, the vote was in 2008, and until another election is held, the people have spoken on the subject and they voted Y-E-S! If the idea of a bullet train is as unpopular as you claim, then why haven't opponents been able to place another initiative placed on the ballot so the voters can overturn it?

And I am saying that a binding election carries more weight than an unscientific poll.

We BOTH know the questions can be weighted so that certain results can be achieved. Can you show me the precise questions used in this poll you stand behind? Because until you do we'll just have to agree that you can't prove it wasn't just another "loaded" poll conducted by an organization that doesn't want High Speed rail in California.

So you can't disprove the numbers I provide but you expect me to just "take your word" for it that this poll somehow negates a binding election with regards to want Californians want.

What suggests that this poll was loaded to you? That you don't like the result? It's interesting this idea that you think public opinion never changes.

I do like with you being a Texan your concern for high speed rail in California. However if you have been following public opinion has turned against it and right now it is being held up in the courts with no plans to move forward.
 
And my apologies for responding above Zap. I think you said earlier it meant I was "following" you. I forgot responding to a thread someone started and having a discussion on the topic would imply you would be 'following" someone.

And now since he can't prove the voting tallies I provided were somehow inaccurate, and since he can't show that the poll questions weren't loaded in favor of HSR opponents, the desperate antagonist switches gears for a THIRD time and now moves on to how HSR is being held up in the courts.

Yeah...maybe he'll finally be able to get some traction with this attempt.

Ummm, who are you talking to? I'm right here. Or are you speaking to the thousands of 'gentle readers' that supposedly never post here but read this board as Desh claims? Or are you just trying to "humiliate" me?

I guess two can play this game. Ok, gentle reader you'll see as I have already shown that Zappa never gave the 2008 vote tallies for the Congressman's district. The Congressman's district is made up of all of Tulare and parts of Fresno. As the gentle reader will note Mr. Zappa posted the election results for Tulare and ALL of Fresno, which included areas not in the Congressman's district. So we do not have an accurate number.

The gentle reader will also realize that public opinion can change on issues although somehow that is a foreign concept to Mr. Zappa. I don't know how closely the fine gentleman from Texas has been following the plight of the high speed rail in California but to us who live in the state and get the news on a daily basis current public opinion is not a surprise as it is to the man from Texas.

I'm sure the gentle reader understands making a statement about the current status of HSR is not switching gears. It's just stating a fact. HSR is going nowhere right now.

The numbers you keep claiming are somehow wrong, but which you just can't seem to provide any corroborating evidence.

As I stated in the OP, a PARTISAN RIGHT WING Conservative is going against the wishes of the voters in his District for his own personal monetary gain and all you've been able to do for 5 pages now is sidetrack the discussion.

We've already been over this, the numbers you posted weren't for his district. Your number included all of Fresno, his district is not all of Fresno. We don't know the numbers for his district. And I already said I agree with you the congressman should recuse himself. Would you like me to day it a dozen more times or do you want to argue just for the sake of arguing?
