You have to be kidding. Am I to understand that you are at a point in your mind where you can't imagine how a US Presidential campaign could possibly be aided in the election by a strong and powerful, but bad actor foreign nation run by a KGB guy?
Simply amazing. Well, I have to hand it to you. That shuts down a meaningful conversation, which appears to be your intent. We liberals see that quite frequently. If there is no agreement on the basic situation, then no meaningful conversation can be had about what to do about it. We can't argue effective policy if we disagree on the basic facts in the first place. And I think it's pathetic.

Yeah, it's all a guess. Watergate took 2 years. If anything, Mueller has shown that he runs a tight ship. Nothing comes out unless he's ready. We are all left to do nothing more than speculate.
And if we don't have a clue to the timing, we certainly don't know what Mueller knows nor what he is going to do about it. I am always amused at all the conservatives who are so certain it's a witch burger.

I have a hard time believing the USA would ever put Trump in prison; despite how fitting it would be. He didn't have to serve in the highest position required, but he did it anyway. It's not an easy job. I wouldn't want it if it paid a billion a year. As goofy as he has been, we have had a leader since the 2016 election fiasco, and that's worth something. He has given of himself, a significant portion of the nation believes in him, and there has to be consideration given for that. I don't like it. I wish we could lock him right up. I hope we do. But I fully understand this can go in a lot of directions. Remember. Nixon walked. But then he was smart enough to listen to good advice and resign.

Like you, I think Trump will not be put in prison...and if I had any say in the matter, HE WOULD NOT BE PUT IN PRISON.
Unlike you, I do not wish he would be locked up. Having attained the highest office in the land, I feel once leaving office he should not be subjected to prison for anything that went on before leaving office.
I hope he ends up paying significant fines for any criminal activities for which he can be convicted...but that is the most I want to see happen to him. (Unless, of course, he decides to commit crimes after leaving office.)

If Trump gets away with high crimes, it is an open invitation for somebody else to do the same thing. It is up to the people of the USA to collectively supervise our leader. Our Constitution has to mean something. I know it would be very bad to have to put the prez in lock-down. But sometimes you have to do unpleasant things to do the right thing. Taking away his ability to tweet would be the right thing!

Okay...and if that person is able to be elected president of the United States...I would feel the same way about him/her.
Donald Trump will NEVER show respect for the office of President...something the voters knew before election day. Almost all of the people in congress who now support him realized it...and almost all of them indicated that the man was not up to the job...not fit for the job...not smart enough for the job...way too dishonest for the job.
But he won the job fair and square...according to the rules in place before the election occurred. He is the president. I am more interested now in the impact of how we handle this disgraceful mistake than in insuring that he pays the price someone not elected to that office would pay.
Yeah...that would be a horrible punishment for him. HEAVY, HEAVY fines would also be horrible punishment for him. A conviction with prison time put aside on condition of blah, blah, blah...would be fine also.
I dread the very thought.
I dread the thought of impeachment also.
We've allowed a monster in our midst. Now we have to devise a way of dealing with it that is not worse than the cure. My feeling is that the election that will occur in 2020 is our best (perhaps only) chance of handling this mess reasonably.

We can't just pretend this will go away if we dress it up and smooth it over.
We would be naive to think it wouldn't repeat if it were not dealt with definitively. That's what justice is for.
