And you are more likely to buy a Nike t-shirt based on that movie (if popular) than a TV ad. And, the movie saved money on wardrobe.

I saw the original Avatar and noticed the bad guys were corporations and the military. I think these things influence us more than any biased news programming.

And, it could be reflecting the views of younger viewers rather than trying to establish those views. The writers are usually from that target group.

Yes, I think capitalism drives a lot of it. If a show has gay characters or shows two men kissing, it is to increase market share and attract new viewers. As Michael Jordan said, "queer families buy shoes, too."

The fact is the television is simply a product of capitalism. It’s all about advertising and marketing of items for sale. Not a political agenda other than that.
 
The reality is that we have a group of older people in America, who refuse to except the fact that the times change, attitudes, change, morals change. They don’t realize that it happened to their grandparents. Also, these people refuse to change with the times and so they get left behind. When they get left behind these people get very angry. That’s a huge block of Trumper’s.

Capitalism drives all business in America. Even the entertainment business...which includes the Infotainment "newz media".

The pedo Nazis and White Supremacists want to dominate the market with their far RW ideology. They say "free market" but they mean "White Male dominated market".
