Trump tried to illegally prevent the transition of power after he lost the 2020 election by telling The Big Lie and he kept repeating it.

Eventually people came to believe it.

It became very dangerous for our country. The US Capitol was violently attacked by believers of The Big Lie.

I believe our education system failed the people who believe in Trump's big lie?!! Trump's fragile ego would not let him except his election defeat, so he claimed election fraud and spread this lie to anyone who would listen, like the weak minded and uneducated?!! I don't want to see this become the norm in the future, when someone loses a fair and free election and cries election fraud and refuses to concede?!!

Trump has hurt America in so many ways. He is a divider and a radicalizer. He uses people.

One of the biggest harms done to the country was screwing up the pandemic response. That got thousands of Americans needlessly killed by spreading false rumors which caused many to make the wrong vaccine choice - none.

Another way Trump hurt America, and this really drove a wedge into the already bitter politics, was to tell The Big Lie, throwing confusion into an already hotly contested election. We had a good result, it withstood all the legal challenges; and the window for making challenges expired. Trump was told all of this, but he knew he could throw the whole nation into chaos by telling his supporters to refuse to accept the results and fight to overturn the free and fair election.

The damage is ongoing.

Trump lied bigly and frequently. He forced the Republican party to either go along or self-destruct. Most Republicans did. They chose power over honesty. Some Republicans stuck to their convictions. One of them is Liz Cheney. She is to be admired for that.

Liz Cheney has more respect in her little fingernail than everyone who ever went to a Trump rally.

A lie is a lie. Repeating it wide and often does not make it true.

But it sure sells a lot of advertising on Fox. We have people getting very rich peddling lies. That's a huge reason to keep telling them.
