By, Paul “Pete” McCloskey Jr. is a former Republican member of Congress from California and was the first member of Congress to publicly call for the impeachment of President Nixon after the Watergate scandal and the Saturday Night Massacre.

On page 585 of the report it is revealed that prior to his speech to over 50,000 supporters, Trump had been advised that perhaps half the crowd had refused to pass through the Secret Service “magnetometers” because they feared the Secret Service would confiscate their concealed weapons. Of the roughly 28,000 people who did get screened by the metal detectors, the Secret Service had recovered hundreds of concealed weapons, including knives, stun guns, pepper spray canisters, batons and brass knuckles.

As he spoke, some 200 or more members of the Proud Boys were already down at the Capitol, dismantling the protective fences that surrounded the building. The crowd surged to the Capitol shouting “Hang Mike Pence!” At 2:13 p.m., the crowd, led by the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, broke through the doors and windows and into the chambers of the House and Senate, the leaders asking, “Where are they counting the ballots?”

They weren't. It was a ceremonial recognition of the already certified electoral college votes.

Sounds like a planned insurrection, if it is true that that many of the #TRE45ON attendees were armed. I don't doubt that they were.

You have been chirping the same tripe for years. When does it start?

Looking up Paul "Pete" Norton McCloskey Jr., you find that he over his political career, stretching back to Richard Nixon, has increasingly become a Leftist then radical Leftist. He was a Republican--mostly a RINO--up to 2007 when he switched party affiliation to Democrat.

So, a guy that hates Trump publishes an unsourced opinion piece, in an obscure newspaper and suddenly it revelations handed down on stone tablets? I think not. This guy's opinion is that and nothing more. But radical Leftists like BidenPresident can continue to wish I suppose...

Your opinion is tainted by the fact that you erroneously believe that anyone to the left of Iran's ayatollah is a "radical leftist," including moderates like Clinton and Biden.

Trump ordered the metal detectors turned off.

I recall that from the testimony of Hutchinson. Was it ever confirmed that they were, though? I can't see the Secret Service doing such a thing even if he ordered it.

1. Trump definitely deserves to be prosecuted. I've NO argument for that.
2. I'll believe it when i see it.
3. And if it does happen, watch for the dumpster fire that it's going to start. Only time will tell if it was worth it or not.

Loading up on lotion and tissue are you? You know you will be disappointed right?

I know so you won't answer because you have me on ignore and you're an intellectual midget but in will ask anyway, who do you believe is a "radical leftist"?

Legal experts see Trump's indictment coming soon in a court near you. Georgia was all Trump, all the time. He is on tape. It was a perfect phone call if you need evidence. Trump supplied it.

I know it isn’t popular here, but Trump will never see the inside of a Court room let alone be found guilty of anything.

The reality is that with his army of attorneys and accountants, he will postpone, delay, and appeal any legal action out beyond his natural life time. In addition, he has a SCOTUS as an ace, plus, a political party and major news network that will muddle facts, defend, and protect him regardless of anything he says or does

To a degree, any jurisdiction would have to weigh heavily if it is even worth the effort, in a few years he will be history, with a legacy close to William Harding’s left behind
