The deal I can see between Trump and DeSantis

First I believe either one would beat Biden or any other dim after this train wreck of an administration.

Both would like to run in 2024 and they’d have to be considered the front runners at this point.

Would DeSantis acquiesce to Trump and be the VP running mate with the express intent of running for president after 4 years since Trump would be ineligible then?

We already know that Trump can lose to a basement dwelling dementia patient. There is no way the republicans should select someone we already know can lose to Brandon to be their candidate. Choose someone else.

Trump strikes me as a narcissist - and will burn everyone around him that would prevent him from looking as good as he views himself.

I'm good with that though I'm not so sure anyone would want to be president given the economy they will inherit.

Snakes don’t make deals, the eat each other, Trump still hasn’t endorsed DeSantis in his Governor race six months out

Seeing him get defeated and lose the popular vote three times in a row would be comedy gold.
 
DeSantis is Trump lite. The problem is he is smarter than Daffy Donald and he could do real right-wing harm to America. I took solace in Trump's lack of knowledge and laziness. But he taught me that 30 percent of Americans will vote for a Fascist takeover and are happy for the ruling class to take over and loot us all.

I see less than zero chance of that happening. I don't see any upside for DeSantis. If they run and lose that's a big blow. A big part of his appeal to many on the right is he supports Trump like policies without the personal baggage of Trump. As VP he would spend his time defending Trump. Again, no upside. Instead he stays Governor of Florida and doesn't get tainted by Trump, like he would if he ran with him, until he's ready to run for President.

But for the sake of discussion, if Trump runs again why would he pick DeSantis? Trump lost in '20 largely because he lost (white) suburban women. Is DeSantis going to bring those voters back? It doesn't make sense to me bring someone deemed Trump Lite to make up for Trump's deficiencies.

He may be smarter than Trump but he doesn't have Trump's media savvy, he resembles a lesser Christie, tough looking approach, no nonsense, but without the media shrewdness, to those outside of the base, he'll come across as an arrogant asshole
