The deal I can see between Trump and DeSantis

trump isn't running. He's bilking his followers out of their food stamp money with the hope of him running.

He's making too much money by not being POTUS.

The nation will never elect trump again. Red states are getting ready to fight that by ramming through laws aimed at denying voters their rights.

He knows it, but he still won't run. He hates to lose.

Gotcha. I see no reason to believe he would act any different towards him than he would anyone else. If Trump decides to run and DeSantis follows it would be game on in Trumps mind.

trump won in large part because enough Bernie Bots voted for him out of anger. Couple that with a refusal by two key demographics to vote at all.

trump/DeSantis will not win Independents next time around.

Dems better find someone better than Harris, though.

Didn't you claim trump has already won two elections? That makes him ineligible to run again. I am just saying.

It is possible trump could win in 2024, but it is more likely that Biden would win. You have confused possible with certain.

If anything, DeSantis has a better chance of winning in 2024, if he could get the nomination, but DeSantis could not defeat trump for the nomination. You are right that DeSantis is a young guy(for a Presidential candidate), so could [possibly] run in elections for decades to come. DeSantis is definitely smarter than trump, and knows how to shut up. That makes him more dangerous.

Both DeSantis and trump have criminality swirling around them, with some very disturbing crimes linked to them. They also take fanatical policies, which are more than a bit crazy. Biden's moderation does not look like a train wreck right now, and will probably look far better in two and a half years.

DeSantis is 43 years old. He will be 46 in 2024, 50 in 2028, and 70 in 2048. In other words, he should have no trouble age wise in running in the next 8 to 10 elections. If that can be taken away by trump, then DeSantis is in very bad shape, and probably should never be President.

You measure success differently than everyone else. There is a reason only 40% of the nation pretends theylike the guy and it isn't all the "success"... this is the guy who is sent out to read a teleprompter and STILL f*cks up and says we want regime change in Russia. That told us for 3 months that inflation was "transitory" then tried to blame 12 month old inflation on a 2 week old invasion.

No, "success" is not what most Americans see when Brandon is at the podium, only idiots who want to believe they didn't f*ck up voting for him pretend to think that this guy who hasn't "lost a step" but has instead forgotten how to walk at all still has one foot on the pedals of the tiny clown bicycle you call an Administration. Biden was able to make clear we wanted regime change, as a message to the people around Putin that we would support them if they removed Putin, and he then got the White House to deny it. If trump had done that, you would be crowing about what a genius he is.

Instead, trump got confused about whether we had troops in Ukraine. he then said how great Putin is for invading Ukraine. Finally, he spouted a hair brained idea of bombing Moscow with Air Force pilots pretending to be Chinese... It really made no sense at all.

Biden is competent; trump is not.

trump moved hundreds of children into the USA, where they went into prostitution. he has refused to sign the agreement on child models, which is doubly disturbing because he mostly employs illegal alien child models.
 
De Santis is ambitious. He wants to rule. He is like Trump but a lot smarter and more dangerous to America. The old people in Florida have voted against their own benefit for decades. They elected a gov and then elected to the senate a guy who ran a health company they committed the biggest Medicare fraud in history. DeSantis did the same thing when he was in the private theft business. Florida voters do not care. If he thinks it will help him win, Desantis will shred Trump.

I think a better path for the Republicans is they get Trump to be a "bomb thrower." Trump enters the Presidential race but never intends to win. Instead, he keeps up his rhetoric and bombast as the Democrats and Left lose their minds fighting him. Then, somebody like Desantis becomes the candidate. The Democrats and Left stay focused on Trump in the wings and ignore the candidate lost in their TDS.

Trump will not help DeSantis. Trump thinks about Trump. He will not do a thing to help Desantis. Trump has collected incredible amounts of donations and has given almost none to the Repub candidates. Trump was a Repub by convenience not values. He knew they were easier to fool and take over than the Dems. Desantis has to fight the TBS reds. Trump blowing syndrome will not go away when he is charged for his crimes. The Trumpys do not care.

Actually I agree with Life here... Sort of. What DeSantis needs from trump is the one thing trump would never give him, and that is for trump to get out of his way. There is no way for DeSantis to get the nomination running against trump. DeSantis knows how to shut up about his crazy conspiracy theories, so has a better chance in the general election, so if he can get past the nomination process, he has a real chance.
