The Dumbing of America

In most countries people get educated to be more human and live better lives. Only extremist American weirdoes believe the only point of education is to get lots of money to impress the Joneses with yet more inferior capitalist junk. Jesus wept!

Good point because no one outside the U.S. wants money or power. It's strictly an American phenomenon.

Absolutely. And dude, I admire your intellectual honesty in living that life. Religion is often about fear and bondage rather than about enlightenment.

lol.....you guys have some strange ideas about what life for believers is like....what is it you think my "bondage" is depriving me of?..........

Dear JPP dunces; the thread premise is that we spent more tax money on education and going to the moon 50 years ago, and falsley attempts to argue that higher taxes equates to learning then moronically blames Republicans for the strawman claims and outright lies it espouses.

Its a massive pile of buffoonish bile. Meanwhile just about everyone on the thread has wandered off the false premise and lies of this article into a debate over Liberal Arts versus Business School.

DUH

Here's a good example of one of my points. Even a BA in liberal arts is better than Truth Deflectors GED!

Bottom ten paying is full with liberal arts.
Because they are way easier.
But it's better than a GED
That depends on the school you go to. I would agree that at most State Universities and JUCO's the liberal arts are in general easier and they do attract the less able and the lazy. That's not true at all schools though. I haven't met to many liberal arts majors from Oberlin, Dennison or Princeton who are unemployed.

It also depends on the field of study. "Liberal Arts" describes a fairly broad range of fields.

What else is going to motivate a14-16 year old kid to take his studies seriously. "It will make you a well rounded person...blah, blah, blah..." Yep, go ahead and try that and see if most kids stay motivated even through high school. There has to be a carrot at the end of the string for most kids...and I suspect it is the same in other countries, to some degree, as well.
