The GOP HATES Our Fighting Men And Women

You haven't begun to explain why republicans votes against this bill, my dear.

why don't you ask one of the republicans who actually voted against the bill? Try to find one who's a combat veteran. I'm betting that if a vet is suffering from an illness directly attributed to burn pits, that illness is definitely service related, if not combat related, and that vet has a VA disability rating (probably approaching or at 100%. That stuff is nasty) and they're receiving most, if not all of their active duty pay tax free, and their medical is completely free through the VA. Is this bill filling some kind of gap or something?

actually, demmycrat overspending affects everyone who pays taxes......which means it wouldn't affect you, your kids, or your mother......

Well considering that only about half of spending is covered by taxes now, the rest is debt and new dollars, it is future generations that will get the real kick in the ass.

This is generational warfare.

Senate GOP block bill that would secure health benefits for veterans who are suffering due to their exposure to toxic burn pits.

Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart stayed on the warpath on Friday in his efforts to get a bill passed that would secure health benefits for veterans who are suffering due to their exposure to toxic burn pits.

To make his case, Stewart went on the conservative Fox News to make a direct plea to its viewers that the legislation was worth passing even as Republican members of the Senate blocked it earlier this week.

During an interview with Fox News' Bill Hemmer, Stewart directly debunked what he described as "misinformation" about the legislation.

"No spending that is not related to veterans has been added to this bill," Stewart began. "No last-minute budget gimmicks have been added to this bill. This bill is purely based on toxic exposure health care and benefits to veterans."

He then encouraged viewers to read the bill at Congress.gov and see for themselves that there is no hidden agenda inside the legislation.

"Hunter Biden didn't sneak in and add unrelated spending in the middle of the night," he said. "This bill is exactly as it was, with the removal of one sentence that had to do with taxation and rural medical facilities!

Let's see the bill, guaranteed it's packed with far left indoctrination funding for the military. Considering that Jon Stewart is a genocidal white racist I don't believe a word he fucking says

The US military stalled for years on giving vets the medical attention they needed from being exposed to Agent Orange. So why is anyone surprised by the GOP's current actions (or lack there of)?

I started a similar thread to this subject....to date NO right wing wonk or MAGA minion has a rational/logical/factual retort.

Yet I'll bet dollars to donuts that the stupid bastards/bitches will vote these POS back into office.

P.T. Barnum was right.

I actually DESPISE the term " fighting for OUR FREEDOM" most of the time it is used. Nothing against our military at all,...BUT...they actually havent FOUGHT for OUR FREEDOM since 1945. STOP SAYING IT,....sounds STUPID!

I explained this in another thread. This bill creates an open-ended entitlement that will be abused severely just as past ones dealing with things like Agent Orange or PTSD has done. A cottage industry of lawyers and others will grow around the bill to entice veterans with some serious aliment to apply for benefits because they once saw a burn pit--by their personal recollection--being done somewhere in their time in the military.

That's the problem with this bill. It has nothing but good intentions behind it, but it--like those before it--will be executed with utter stupidity and awful results.

Fascinating how you continue to think your supposition and conjecture actually passes for facts and the logic that derives from said facts.

The Military/Industrial complex stalled for years before getting the surviving vets what they were due.
The current anal blockage by the MAGA GOP has to do with what else was in this bill...a proposal to curtail inflation that the GOP didn't like. They could give a damn abou the vets...same way they pissed on vets when they pushed to cut funding under the Shrub's administration.

You need to stop trolling for them...it's disgusting.

I guess you don't know that the VA conducted a multi-decade study as part of Agent Orange exposure on the members of Ranch Hand. That is, those that actually handled, sprayed, serviced the aircraft, etc., using Agent Orange. Of 1206 eligible members, 1174 agreed to participate. These participants were tracked for twenty years of their medical history from entering the study to its end. What was found was that the group as a whole had a lower incidence of cancer and other health issues compared to the general public.
The only anomaly the VA could find in this scientific study of those most exposed to Agent Orange was they had a 50% higher rate of pre-cancerous carcinomas an easily treated form of pre-skin cancer.

So, why should the VA be paying out massive sums to people claiming Agent Orange exposure when the most conclusive study ever done on its effects on humans found the above? All of the legal claims were based on laboratory studies done by academics under artificial conditions on the basis that dioxin was the issue.

I'll bet that Leftists and other retards will accept at face value this bill without even considering the possibilities that most of the claims made resulting from it are bogus.

Your racial psychosis aside ... please provide the readers with a quote from the bill that has this "...far left indoctrination funding for the military".

If you can't produce it, that makes you a LIAR. Carry on.

Yeah, it's a cliche'. But to be honest, our involvement in Vietnam was based on a LIE, as was our involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq. Matters of fact, matters of history. Just saying.

You're such a fucking toady/troll/wonk it's disgusting:

In 1979, a class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of 2.4 million veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange during their service in Vietnam. Five years later, in an out-of-court-settlement, seven large chemical companies that manufactured the herbicide agreed to pay $180 million in compensation to the veterans or their next of kin.

In 1988, Dr. James Clary, an Air Force researcher associated with Operation Ranch Hand, wrote to Senator Tom Daschle, “When we initiated the herbicide program in the 1960s, we were aware of the potential for damage due to dioxin contamination in the herbicide. However, because the material was to be used on the enemy, none of us were overly concerned. We never considered a scenario in which our own personnel would become contaminated with the herbicide.”

In 1991, President George H.W. Bush signed into law the Agent Orange Act, which mandated that some diseases associated with Agent Orange and other herbicides (including non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, soft tissue sarcomas and chloracne) be treated as the result of wartime service. This helped codify the VA’s response to veterans with conditions related to their exposure to Agent Orange.

What does any of that anecdotal evidence prove?

https://www.vacsp.research.va.gov/CSPEC/Studies/INVESTD-R/Air-Force-Ranch-Hand-Study.asp
https://www.gao.gov/assets/t-nsiad-00-117.pdf

The actual studies show what I stated. Those outside Ranch Hand were never exposed to anywhere near the doses--a thousandth to a millionth--what the Ranch Hand operators were. Yet, there is no significant effect outside pre-skin cancer incidence that could be linked to Agent Orange with them.

The GQP is dead when it comes to its relationship with America or anything else of a civilized nature as it wages war on society and humanity, and as a result of tRump destroying its soul and the souls of idiots who are shrouded in a state of ignorance, hatred of America, themselves and who are incapable of co-existing in a civilized society, and yet who are the minority. Although tRump and his gutter repuke associates of sedition failed in their so-called coup attempt to destroy Democracy but outwitted themselves at causing Democracy to become stronger and more in tune with what the enemy from within is up to who are prostitutes and do the treasonous bidding of foreign enemies and the devil. Additionally, who like tRump wouldn't give a rat's ass for any of their dumbfounded supporters as they can all drop dead in their blind and misconstrued support of so-called republicans and their main rancid cheese of high crimes against humanity tRump. I suppose its possible they are all ok with the idea of making it to hell with tRump and his un-American repuke mob of the gutter when its all over for themselves!
