The Main Stream Opinion Media Is Heavily Conservative

Hello Nordberg,

The only people who say Fox is news at all or fair, are avid viewers of it. Nobody else is fooled. It is a very right-wing slanted station that is all right, all the time.

Fox needs to make a major decision.

Do they wish to continue to pretend they are a respected main stream media news source? (In which case, they just lost their audience...)

Or do they follow their audience, drop the ruse, and just go completely tabloid.

Because they are losing their audience unless they commit to total whack-a-doodle RW nonsense.

It all comes down to whether or not they wish to appease the 'stolen election' crowd.

Slippery slope - no more traction...

We often hear conservatives complaining about how the media is liberal.

And since Trump many of them won't even listen any more.

But the one thing they will listen to is talking head opinion pundits.

Naturally, both flavors can be found.

But the thing is this:

This media is overwhelmingly dominated by conservatives.

Sure, there are liberal pundits. They are out there. But they are vastly outnumbered by the conservative ones.

Of this, there can be no dispute.

no dispute?......I can't even imagine how you came to this silly conclusion......

Hello Flash,

Sort of a non-sequitor here.

You've really diverted into a different subject.

"Talking head opinion pundits" and

"print and broadcast journalists"

have some overlap, but are not really the same group.

My point was that most journalists tend to be liberal whether they are talking heads, print, broadcast, cable....

Doesn't that tell us something?

Such as the people whose business it is to know what's going on, the most knowledgeable people in the news, favor the liberal position?

the "liberal"bias is in their "hard news" which is skewed and biased. and they're not even "liberals". they don't believe in free speech. they do believe in internationalist fascism, or great reset as they call it.

People who are very well informed, people who know what's going on - choose to be liberal.

Pundits who want to sell advertising by whipping up emotions and fear - choose the be-hateful -to-liberals conservative shtick.

That is a stretch. A better explanation is that liberals are more likely to choose journalism. Also, your reference to "talking heads" often doesn't include those especially knowledgeable about politics.

Otherwise, one could conclude that those on Fox, Newsmax, and America Only News are included among the most knowledgeable and that is why they have conservative positions.

Our political views do not come from our knowledge of politics but from attachments we form earlier in life

Meaning primarily conservatives and conspiracy theorists?

I think they went where the money is. That is what I see as the primary motivation for them.

I think that it's a combination of factors. I was actually quite conservative in earlier life. And while I was, I was not very well informed. I was going along with the crowd I ran with. Then as I became more aware and better informed, my views changed. I began to think for myself. I became more liberal. I still have no problem hanging out with conservatives or liberals. I can discuss politics without making it personal, and I know when to break it off and change the subject or walk away if people begin to get too heated about it.

I think it's sad when people end up losing friends or even disown relatives over politics. That's taking things too far.

Candidate for the most incorrect post of the year.

Hello Flash,

It is the only thing keeping many media outlets in business. Are they the cause of the fear and hatred or do they just represent the American public?

Good question. They are not the original cause of hatred, but they do spread it, so they cause it to be amplified in many minds. They take what's there, perhaps just smoldering away in the back of somebody's mind, and they fan the flames. That makes it a problem.

No, they do not represent the American public in general. They go for the sensationalist stories. That means the right wing extremists. That stirs up emotion. Emotion is the thing they look for. It doesn't matter what emotion, it just has to be strong. Strong emotion and they can sell lots of advertising. Strong emotion is a scientifically known motivator for selling.

I don't complain that the media are liberal, because, they mostly aren't. My complaint is that they are largely progressive.

Isn't it a coincidence that hatred is suddenly such a huge thing in America...

Right during an age when we have the internet and social media.

I hope everyone realizes how well hatred, division and violence in America work for Russia, the Taliban, Iran, ISIS, Al Qaeda, North Korea, etc...

How do you tell a real American from a mixed up faker?

A real American accepts American diversity.

A mixed up faker is easily led by fake news to hate other Americans.

And we have to wonder just who benefits from planting hateful fake news...
