The message of the Ma election: we want the public option!

Because he raised the strawman and Democrats did nothing to bash it down and burn it like it deserved.

What Democrats need is a propaganda machine on the level of Republicans.

Republicons know how to use the fear card. They use it over and over on their 24-7-365 propaganda machine. I thought that Bush's failed presidency would be enough to set the republicons back for a while but their ability to raise the fear level using their corporate backed propaganda machine is stronger than I ever realized.

No strawman. This Healthcare plan will just end up making us all forcibly buy insurance on our own. It's a gift to the insurance industries. WHy don;t you think for one second of your stupid life.

Among those who do not want this malformation of health care (strongly against) 98% voted for Brown. Of those who do want this malformation of health care (strongly for) 97% voted for Coakley. Even in one of the most liberal states the true message was most of America doesn't want this form of malformation. Start over and do it right. That was the message of Mass.

Now there are areas that we can agree, this is where the focus should move and changes begin.

Isn't that kind of bullshit, though, since Mass already has something very similar to what was being proposed?

The Repbulicons dragged their feet... obstructed every inch of the way. Don't blame it all on Obama. The Senate is an important part of our democratic government but since we're no longer a democracy maybe the senate is obsolete. Maybe we should just continue to let the multi-national corporations and Lord Lieberman decide what healthcare Americans deserve.
I'm not blaming it all on Obama but I am holding him responsible. The buck stops at his desk. Never taking responsibility for his own ineptitude was something I despised about W and I sure as hell won't tolerate it from Obama.

So what you're telling me is that the people in MA are dumber than a bag full of foreskins? I don't buy that for a minute.

I agree. The basis of the healthcare bill should be a public option. Other than that they can hash out the details but without a public option there should be no bill.

You agree Damocles?

Well you should be thrilled then cause we will get nothing. HC reform is dead, dead, dead.
I don't believe we'll get nothing. What I think will happen now is we'll get piecemeal changes aimed at stemming the rising tide of costs and once those are in place an extension of medicaid to include those who are struggling and not just the destitute.

right? last i checked we were one of the smartest states in terms of college education and public ranking. his comment just indicative of a party line do what your told democrats versus the self thinking jfk democrats that rejected such monarchy coming out of the senate.

I disagree. You do not "fix" a problem with a small percentage of people not being covered by changing all coverage and making everybody's coverage worse. You don't fix a problem with rising costs by giving out corporate welfare. You don't fix the practice of defensive medicine (cost issue) by ignoring tort reform. So forth.

First stem costs, then people will be more than willing to extend coverage to those who are struggling and stop insurance companies from cutting off sick people. Working with the rest of the population and with the actual companies without just handing them government cash is a far better form of reform that won't just malform it into suck and make everybody's coverage worse.
