They ADD more to the California economy than they take. This is so much like the arguments made against the 1986 immigration reform that created amnesty. Opponents told us it was going to harm national security, that the job market would suffer because all these people would take jobs from good hard working americans. It wasn't true.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't like illegal immigration either, but it is, I believe, for different reasons that say Pat Buchanan. I oppose illegal immigration because of the adverse affects it has on the illegal immigrant. There was a guy arrested in Arizona a couple of month ago for holding illegal workers hostage by billing them for food and shelter and transportation to the job site and anything else he could think of. By the time he was done billing them, he was keeping all of their check and telling them they owed him more.
I want a VAST guest worker program that lets the 12 million go to the mexican consulate, give there names and addresses and get ID's that comport with US law. I want serious guest worker protections and limits on how many guest workers can be employed by any one company. There is a contractor in Denver that hires "day laborers" for 8 dollars an hour that help him get jobs done faster and cheaper. I just think that all this talk about taking our jobs and huring security is bullshit and I live with a higher concentration of illegals than most of you do.

There has always been a worker program for 'Legal Workers' to work our crops...they come into the country during the harvest season and return after the crops are picked! This could also apply to other work areas...the key being they return after the job is completed...not receive benefits such as medical freebies via Medicaid,food stamps,free education for there kids,section 8 housing etc...the employeers should be required to pay these costs...not the tax-payer...get a grip counselor!

They DON'T qualify for medicaid, foodstamps or section 8 housing. NO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT qualifies for federally funded aid. Even after they become a citizen they are not eligible for federal aid for 5 years. State's do have programs for illegals and some do pay and like I said in an earlier post, States would NOT give them aid if it was not ecomonically viable to do so. So the point isn't moot.
But their children do. Are you suggesting that none of them take advantage of this?

Their children get the advantage of our education system. Some states provide some healthcare to their children but the cost ain't what the doom and gloomers make it out to be. We benefit by the presence of illegal aliens in this county. It is a net gain.
