The Most Expensive Weapon Ever Built

Has anybody actually got anything to say about the F-35? Seeing as that is what this thread is about!! Oh and before anybody says what the fuck has it to do with me, unfortunately we have signed for the white elephant.
 
Not nearly my forte, but seeing as it appears useless outside of a 'real' war situation, the populace is against losing personnel, it is more expensive to use than a drone I'd say its almost silly to do more than build a few for the sake of it.

Then, even excluding the unmanned ability of today's military, it seems to be an attempt to force several functions that are traditionally left to specialized craft into one vehicle you end up with a jack of oall trades situation. Against even specialized yet inferior craft I expect it to recieve an extra portion of just deserts, because of not only the specialization but pilot skill or lack of. A polit trained to do everything suffers from an analogous loss of capability as the craft itself.

I think the military is attempting to use this as a one size fits all in the hopes that it will rarely be used and future models will probably see even more generalization.

OK Tom....you may be right in your indictment of the F35....but in this country....the F35 means jobs...many jobs....many very good paying jobs....
its money that feeds the middle case and its money that will come back to the government in taxes....feed the economy, etc.....
Even if our own military finds no use the the F35, we'll sell it the UK or the Saudis or some other government....
I could even imagine Obama selling it at 50% off to the Muslim Brotherhood....so we won't lose everything we have invested....

We've a bigger problem losing our country to the brainwashed pinheads our public school system has produced in the last 30 years.....

Time magazine is American last time I checked. I don't think you will be able to sell it widely as the range apart from anything else is just too short. The F-35 is a real dog's breakfast and is destined to be a classic white elephant.

Except those jobs were never in danger to begin with, and the program itself is both a tremendous waste and the fucking plane sucks more than shit we've RETIRED.

Every government project that gets postponed or cancelled puts jobs at risk....what the hell do you think those workers that would have built the plane will do
if its cancelled....just sit with their thumbs up their nose until another one comes out of R&D and is accepted.....no work means no workers

We don't have almost 8% unemployment because of a big demand for workers and this won't be the first piece of garbage the gov. have spent money on....and it
won't be the last.

Pay half of them to dig holes and the other half to fill them. It's more labor intensive and so we could probably still save money. You are soooo ignorant.
