Yeah, but saying "politically intolerant" is misleading. It would be like saying this person is "religiously intolerant" when the only religious groups they won't tolerant are terrorist groups like ISIS.

The RNC is extreme in that it has blind loyalty to Trump, which is Fascism. Maybe for some people things like affordable healthcare is far left, but that's not the same as having blind loyalty to a criminal.
So, you are not disagreeing with anything in the article. You are agreeing people are very intolerant. The difference is you are intolerant toward the right while they are intolerant toward the left.
Deciding which ideas should be accepted is about as intolerant as you can get. Many of those on the right would, like you, agree that some shouldn't be accepted, but you would differ about which ones shouldn't be accepted or what is "within reason." Being intolerant toward fascism is still intolerance and supports the findings of the study. Because you think the intolerance is justified does not mean it is not intolerance.
The article was referring to political intolerance of those of the other political party/political ideology.
Conservatives think intolerance toward the left is being intolerant of socialism/communism.
Classifying the left as communists and the right as fascist perfectly illustrates the intolerance discussed in the study. I don't know why you are disagreeing with its general findings.

You are admitting it is intolerance which supports the article. It made no attempt to determine equivalence or determine whether the intolerance of one side is "better" than the other.
You are trying to make the intolerance of both sides a partisan issue. You seem to think there is a "good" intolerance. The right would say intolerance of communism is "good."

The reason the Republicans are hopping from ridiculous excuse to ridiculous excuse to defend Trump from impeachment is because they know he's guilty. I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe they just are that stupid. But if that was the case, they wouldn't be changing their stance every week. They would have accepted by now that Trump tried to bribe a foreign government to take down one of his political opponents.
Fascism has always been characterized by one person or party having unlimited power. Now obviously, America doesn't have a Fascist government yet. However, Republicans now believe that their president is above the law, which makes them Fascists. If the Republican party ever completely took over congress, we would have Fascism, no question. Democrats or any other party would be powerless since Republicans are now in the process of normalizing the rigging of elections.
Maybe for some people. Here in the Western world, most people are in favor of it. Not sure it can still be "far left" if most people want it.
It would be easier to list the crimes he hasn't committed. But when it comes to impeachment, it's for the crime of bribery.
