A vote could have been held yesterday and a sizable number of Democrats would have voted to impeach without any proof, evidence, or investigation.

If you would like to hold a serious conversation

There is some truth to the OP, almost has to be.

A. the Democrats know there is zero chance of impeachment, impossible with the requirement of 66 votes in the Senate
B. It has to be obvious to the old guard that neither Biden or Pocahontas, or Bernie have a snowballs chance in hell defeating trump in a national election

so where's the option, I think they have discussed it among themselves and deciding that at the very least they have to keep their base energized, the base at this time in history is comprised of
people that would vote for Hitler himself if it meant ousting Trump.

There's a long road ahead for Democrats to gain back any credibility, the credibility required to move the electoral needle.
You even in your dusted mental state due to TDS are smart enough to know that this "impeachment" inquiry, investigation, or whatever you want to call it is not going to go over well as an optic.

Trump has outwitted them again, he even uses himself as bait and Democrats just can't help themselves
