The real reason Trump is destroying the economy

Weren't you supporting him yesterday?
I know it appeared that way, but that discussion was about the reference to "hostility", not supporting the tariffs.

In the process of not allowing words to be synonymous with violence, I came across as supporting Trump's tariffs.

“In for a penny, in for a pound”

Do you think most Trump voters will flip Democrat in 2026?

I think it depends on how badly his term goes. He gave himself until April 10th to implement these ridiculous tariffs. I think that was done on purpose because he wanted to gauge the response.

Edit: Of course there are always some people who bounce back and forth, but I'm talking more about a significant shift in 2028.

The question is will he " Back off " before he does reprehensible damage.
The price of things has already gone up the DOW is crashing, How long is it going to be before he Backs off?
As soon as he sees his approval rating crash and when the rich and powerful start lighting up the Sunday morning shows bashing him - hopefully!

First...I've been saying that he will force the Fed to lower interest rates when we sink into a depression. He's leveraged to the max, so it helps him and his billionaire donors when rates come down.

I heard another theory on Public Radio the other day. I might have read a piece here too.

If you study the USSR, the same exact thing was done. The economy was purposely crashed and most services were now provided by the private sector. (sound familiar?) Then, cronies (sound familiar?) got the contracts for virtually all of the necessary goods/services and oligarchs were born.
Oh! That's interesting! trump and the oligarchs want to privatize all public services!

It appears the real reason he did it is because he's a fucking moron.

Trump thinks he's the smartest man in the room. He thought that the first time and he hasn't changed. If Congress doesn't do something to stop him, it will only get worse.
Yeah, if we wait for the GOP in congress to grow a spine, we're going to be waiting a long time!

That is a good question.
I wonder if he is helping his bed buddy Putin by crashing our economy.
We all know just how much Trump loves him.
Yeah, that was my theory - that trump is weakening America on purpose because he knows that's what Putin, his desired BFF wants.

Trump has low self-esteem. While he can take a loss and dance around declaring it's a victory, with his poll numbers dropping with the stock market and more American voters voicing their displeasure, he's boxed himself into a corner. If he backs off, he'll be a LOSER. If he sticks in for the ride, he truly believes it will work out...which indicates his disconnect from reality. Congress will be forced to do something because Trump won't change.

Nah..... there's always spin (or just lies) that Trump can leverage to convince MAGA that he/we won.
