The right thing to do

At the Osaka G20 meeting, Xi explained to Trump why he was building concentration camps in Xinjiang [an estimated 1-2 million ethnic minority Uighurs have been detained in these camps for “re-education”]. Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which he thought was exactly the right thing to do.

- John Bolton, The Room Where It Happened, page 312.

So Xi went ahead without fear of sanctions, indeed with the backing of the leader of the free world. Was this the right thing to say?

"Was this the right thing to say?"
For Trump being Trump, that sounds about right.
For Trump representing America and the Western World, ... NO!

Has anyone else confirmed this?

Matthew Pottinger, deputy national security adviser, said that Trump told the Chinese govt. much the same thing during his 2017 visit.

Now dear leader may be having second thoughts:

The United States is weighing formally labeling China’s brutal repression of ethnic minority Uighurs a “genocide,” two Trump administration officials said.

It comes in the heat of the 2020 presidential campaign, in which the two sides have jousted over which candidate would be tougher on China. A spokesperson for Joe Biden noted that he supports the label — a factor that could influence President Donald Trump’s calculations.

Amazing what difference a year can make! From “exactly the right thing to do” to maybe genocide, lol.

Hello Tranquillus in Exile,

No surprise. Trump does not care about disadvantaged people - HE is greatly advantaged.

Trump has demonstrated time and time again that he will not hesitate to throw anybody under the bus if it helps HIM.

Exactly what could Trump do to stop Xi from doing it?

Nothing other than express grave disapproval, perhaps enlist allies and/or the U.N. to speak out against it. Go on record as opposing a potential human rights violation. You know, the same thing America has done for decades.

Trump approves because he would love to do the same thing with those who oppose him. Journalists would be the first to be locked up, of course.

John bolton is a warmongering neocon douche hole liar.

Correct. Trump fired Bolton because Bolton is a warmonger. Bolton does not care for Trump and knows that he can get gullible Leftists to buy his book if he merely says bad things about Trump, true or otherwise.

My operating assumption is that there isn't anything true in his book and that Bolton's intent is to milk gullible leftists for every penny they will spend seeking to validate their own TDS.

Why did Bolton demand Trump bomb the road? To kill everyone trying to get to the other side.

Hello IBDaMann,

Time and time again? What are your top four examples?

'Time and time again' would only require two examples.

But no problem, there are plenty to choose from so I will give you four right off the top of my head.

1. Muslims.

2. Immigrants.

3. Robert Mueller.

4. Jeff Sessions.

Trump met with more than two dozen survivors of religious conflict - Rohingya, Uighurs and Yazidis - a few of whom told their stories to the president.

Mohib Ullah, a Rohingya man who had escaped violence in Myanmar, explained that he was staying in a refugee camp in Bangladesh and asked the president what his plans were to help his beleaguered people. Trump replied by asking, “And where is that, exactly? Where?”

Sam Brownback, the US ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom, intervened by explaining that Bangladesh is “next to Burma” and “the Rohingya have been run out.”

The president replied, “Thank you, appreciate it,” and moved on without answering Ullah’s question.

What if Brownback had been seized by a mischievous imp and had given the president nonsensical misinformation such as “Rohingya is next to Alabama”, just to see what he would say?

This is not the person I want leading the USA.

I will be voting to make Joe Biden the next President of the USA.

The list needs to be those who were thrown under the bus.

I'm thinking of five different Muslims in the US. How were they "thrown under the bus" by Trump?
I'm thinking of about thirty immigrants that I know personally, roughly half legal and the other half illegal. How did Trump throw them under the bus?
How was Mueller "thrown under the bus"?
How was Jeff Sessions?

My guess is that you never learned what "throw under the bus" means and instead think it means "not rescue from what's coming."

Translation: My TDS consumes me. I will be wasting my vote on someone for whom I am genuinely not enthused to vote as Trump inevitably wins with more than 300 electoral votes.
