The sheer GENIUS of PRESIDENT TRUMP declaring the Border Crisis a National Emergency

you have heard of the 60 vote senate threshold, huh frankie?

Yes, of course I have. I did not address that, though. You have heard the expression "control of the Senate"...right?

Put "control of the Senate" into Google...and see what you find.

"Control of the Senate", for the record, is not the same as being able to pass anything it wants to pass. Bringing that up is just a way for Trump supporters to dodge the reality of the fact that the Republicans had control of both houses of Congress during the first two years of Trump's presidency...and he got as much money for his wall from the congress as he got from Mexico.

There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that "control of the Senate" was in the hands of the Republicans during, Donald Trump's, first two years. That is what I said in my post...and no intelligent person would argue against that.

And no intelligent person would argue against the fact that the abomination did NOT get his wall at that time. That also is what I said.

of course you havn't, you could google on subjects before you opine, would make for a much more intelligent conversation

Good grief, Getin, why would you even think that?

Of course I knew...and had no need to Google it.

But it is early...and perhaps you confused "controlling the Senate"...with being able to pass anything you want.

It is an innocent mistake and you shouldn't feel too terrible about it.

Have some coffee...and you'll be able to see more clearly.

Nope, McCain, Flake, Ryan and other repub anti-Trumpers were not united with the rest of the party.

And of course the biggest factor, ... you need 60 votes in the Senate to fully control it. You have been brainswashed by liberal mythology.

Don't doubt me. :palm:

So you admit that some repubs were willing to "put the security of the American people at risk", well done.

Can you explain why those repubs were willing to "put the security of the American people at risk", since the GOP is supposed to be the only party that cares about national security.

Also, some Dems were willing to go along with the wall in exchange for getting a path to citizenship for the DREAMERS.

Now that trump will try to do an end run around Congress to get wall money, is a path to citizenship for DREAMERS still on the table?

Everything you write has to be checked for factual accuracy, sorry about that. :palm:

The whole basis of the Potus declaring a national emergency on the southern border necessitating a wall is factually and legally specious.
Basically, and forgive me as I am far more perceptive than you Trumpkins, and so I constantly find myself talking down to you, this is an
act of desperation by a trapped animal. Trump is going down and he knows it. He thinks a wall can save his ass. He knows he can't have it
funded legally because nobody wants it and everyone hates his guts and they don't want to help him. So it's a stunt. He knows this won't stand.
There is no question a potus has authority to declare a national emergency and take property and apply it to an end. But with every grant of
authority there are two thing, abuse and use. The courts will declare this an abuse of authority due to the objective facts showing this is not an actual
emergency, and his admission that it is not exigent.

Yes Repukes, you are far too stupid to understand this. So, for me it is just what I see, and for you, as with most things, it will be a foul surprise.

In 1976, Congress passed the National Emergencies Act, which permits the president to pronounce a national emergency when he considers it appropriate. The act offers no specific definition of “emergency” and allows a president to declare one entirely at his or her discretion.

You really think you are somehow "scoring points" because you agree with Ann Coulter, now? :palm:

She said something completely out of character and opposite to what she normally professes. So yes, she was right this time. Wrong the other times.

Hey, Frank.

Saying that a person is “full of ....” was not allowed in formal debate at Vanderbilt. I know, this isn’t formal debate. Speaking of debate, my girlfriend at the time told me that she would be nicer to me if I tried out for the debate team. I did and she was.

I believe you are going to get another blast of winter up there. Snow and ice. Florida? Georgia? You are never too old to...
Interesting. So you are a MASTERdeBATER?

Did you offer outdated information, aimed at reaching your desired conclusion at Vandy?

1 sentence that explains Donald Trump and the Russia investigation

Here’s the sentence:

“The episode was among the first of multiple ham-handed efforts by the president to carry out a dual strategy: publicly casting the Russia story as an overblown hoax and privately trying to contain the investigation’s reach.”

The problem for trump, is that the ploy worked during the campaign.

For some psychological reason, he still hasn't realized that the campaign is over.

How triggered are liberals today?

so triggered they post about the "investigation" in a thread about border security :rofl2:

but on topic, we are getting the wall, had to drag the nut-bags kicking and screaming, pull an Obama for the funding, but we're getting the wall

kind of a bad day for nut-bags

Its yesterday's headline. Why would Trump be trying so hard to obstruct the investigation?

No, I’m just much better prepared and more skilled at debate than you. Probably better educated than you, too.

I’ve asked you several times about a claim you made the other day about charges against McCabe.

What has he been charged with? Who has charged him?

Well, it appears that Althea is wrong. President Trump was a multi-billionaire BEFORE (1988) he became president.

How quaint.

I'm assuming you are talking about that 30' high, reinforced concrete wall from sea to shining sea that Mexico was going to pay for!

Nobody is gettin' that wall, Getin.

In fact, I doubt there will be any wall at all built during the next two years.

Trump may prevail in the courts that he has the authority to declare this particular "emergency"...but that does not mean he will be able to appropriate the funds to which he thinks that will give him access.

You guys gotta stop being so triggered by that wall thingy. You are not going to get it...and border security will be better despite that. So don't let it bother you so.

I'm hoping this go a little better for your side soon. YOU people are the ones constantly being triggered...and that is bad for your health.

The National Review:

"The U.S. government is currently installing sections of Trump’s 30-foot-high wall in three places.

The good news for those who wish to see a wall built along the U.S.–Mexican border is that U.S. Customs and Border Protection has built seven miles of 30-foot-high wall in the past few months, and roughly 30 more miles of high fencing are slated for construction."

More to come.
