Former aide, Tara Reade, who briefly worked as a staff assistant in Mr. Biden’s Senate office, told The New York Times that in 1993, Mr. Biden pinned her to a wall in a Senate building, reached under her clothing and penetrated her with his fingers.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT MEN WHO MISTREAT WOMEN IN GENERAL:
First of all, I think any man who assaults a woman in any way…is a punk and should be treated as a punk. Having said that, though, it happens! At some point, it makes more sense to put the issue aside if the assaulting individual is not a serial assaulter...and if he stops the behavior and contributes to society. That goes for people like Biden, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Clinton, and Trump.
INITIAL THOUGHTS ON THE SPECIFIC ALLEGATION:
As for the specific allegation…I have no reason to suspect that nothing happened…that the allegation is totally false. Something almost certainly happened to Ms. Reade at the hands of Joe Biden.
But the event as described by Ms. Reade sounds improbable to me. (More about that in a moment.)
MY “QUALIFICATIONS” TO MAKE A JUDGEMENT:
I was a promiscuous guy at a point in my life…a divorce, freedom from responsibility, and the advent of an age of openness all combined to allow a person like me to live a rather indulgent life. I was reasonably attractive to women…did a lot of partying…and got into lots of “interesting” circumstances.
Frankly, I decided early on that I would “do the deed” with almost any woman willing to “give it up”…but ONLY if she truly gave it up. My motto was: Only if she says, “Yes”…and anything less than an enthusiastic “YES!” was considered “No.” I pretty much lived by that motto.
But as I said, I was into many “interesting” (and informative) circumstance, so I do feel qualified to comment on this.
FURTHER THOUGHTS AND JUDGEMENT:
Let me say this without equivocation: “Pinning” a clothed woman to a wall and managing to “penetrate her” with your fingers…EVEN WITH THE WOMAN’S TOTAL COOPERATION…is one hell of a feat. Without her cooperation…I am saying it is next to impossible…unless the woman is a porn star in the “fisting” section of porn sites and had just finished shooting a segment.
At best, one might be able to “cop a feel” of some pussy hair…but penetrate??? A person would need fingers coated in Vaseline to facilitate penetration of an unaroused, standing, clothed woman. Under those circumstances, the woman would have to be panting in arousal to be wet enough for the penetration to occur without further lubricant.
As I said…something gross and unwanted may have (probably) happened. Joe Biden may have made an unwanted move on the woman…and may have gotten way more “handsy” than any man should have. But the story as suggested leaves more questions in my mind than it furnishes answers about what that “something” was.
Either Ms. Reade was a more willing participant in what occurred than she acknowledges…or she has accidentally or purposefully embellished the story considerably.
