Actually you can probably thank Paul for that one. It was NOT a foregone conclusion in the early Church that the OT Laws were set aside for the new religion of Christianity.

Which is strange if it was such a clear cut case that Jesus' arrival had overturned the Laws.

But I'm more than happy to concede the point. It's as good as any an exegesis for why the Laws (except things like the 10 Commandments and the opprobrium heaped on homosexuals) were set aside.
