Whoever replaces Putin will occupy Odesa. The war to save Russia is only beginning.Well currently the Russians have 100,000 ready to take Kiev, and we are almost certainly going to deal with NATO trying to strike Russia with Taurus....and if there is a significant strike Putin has pretty much no choice (the Russian people will allow no choice) but to launch Oreshnics at Europe....so I dont think Odessa happens anytime soon.
Walt gets his news from Mourning Joe and is clueless to what will happen when Putin is replaced by a war hawk. Europe had their chance at diplomacy but that will end when Russia occupies Odesa. You really can't figure it out? The following article title can certainly give you a clue:

Russia will not survive if they refuse to occupy Odesa. Russian war hawks can't wait for Putin to retire. All of Putin's negotiations with Eastern Europe will disappear. No one can predict what happens after that.I keep on -hoping- that Ukraine and the west wakes up to the fact that the best time to make a deal with Russia is -now-. If they did, they could perhaps still keep Odessa. But I admit that I don't think the prospects of that happening are good.

Odesa is key, The Russians need to close off the Ukrainian neoNazis from US maritime support.
In case nobody has noticed, the US of AIPAC has become fascism-supportive.
There was a time when the Russians were concerned that the Rump of Ukraine needed to include Odessa in order to be viable....but as the Imperial Empire continues to refuse to admit defeat they seem to be moving towards not being worried about that.....they will instead take all that they want and invite Europe to carve up what is left for Poland/Romania and so on.I remember Walt saying that there's another route to get Ukraine supplies, via Poland. Basically, I see no reason that Russia -needs- to take Odessa at this time, which I believe is why they haven't. I still hold hope that Ukraine makes a deal with Russia soon- if they do, I've seen no indication that Russia is currently demanding Odessa. But the longer Ukraine waits, the more likely it is that Russia will in fact demand Odessa if not outright taking it in battle.
A lot has changed my grapevine is telling me since Kursk and so many other things.....the resistance to Putins slow and careful approach inside Russia has almost completely evaporated. How are you so sure?
I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd need solid evidence to be sure this is true.
I think this is all pretty speculative. I will say this though- I'm not sure what will happen next -now-, let alone later. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that there is no way that Ukraine's continuing to fight instead of making a deal with Russia is in the interests of the vast majority of Ukrainians.
BTW the reason the Russian war hawks are no longer a problem for Putin is because as the Russians have no choice but to face the racist hate of the West and as they see more of the terrorism of the West they see that they are in a total war that they must win, and one that likely will run for many years....there can be no mistakes.
And even with the Chinese as their blood brothers the collective West while in decline still has the ability to do massive damage....and Russia while kicking our ass currently and while under Putin has been on a 25 year roll of improvement has still major weaknesses that America makes every attempt to exploit....and the Russians cant assume that we will continue to be blundering fools.Again, I think there can be mistakes, but it may be the realize that going slow and careful minimizes them.
