Speaking for myself, I come to political discussion boards to find out what and how other people think about politics and current events, and so share my own thoughts. I suspect most of us, at least on the left, do so for the same reasons. But do RWers? They seem to constantly assign us attributes and thoughts we don't possess, that come straight from either Trump or their warped media. Gardner's dreck, above, about Xi and Marx is a good example. They are not interested in learning anything, it would appear. Some are propagandists. Some are lonely attention whores. Others are mean trolls. All seem unhappy with their lots in life as you correctly pointed out.

The GOP is dead. Trump killed it in the 2018 Midterms and has replaced it with the Party of Trump AKA the White Christian Nationalist Party of America.

As a general rule, I'm against permanent changes to children. Even adults have regretted plastic surgery so why let a child make such a decision?

Additionally, we don't even understand why there is a ~10% variance from heterosexuality in humans. Until we do, I suggest caution on making major life altering decisions for children.

That said, I also advise more focus on tolerance and allowing children to explore being themselves. Girls who are tomboys are tolerated a lot more than boys in a dress or playing with dolls. More tolerance of differences and less bigotry should be a primary focus.

Agreed on the percentage, but if someone said "Don't worry, only .005% of kids commit suicide" I'd still be concerned.

The MAGAts want to make trans a central divisive issue. They are using kids are weapons. Anyone who thinks MAGAts really give a shit about kids, much less trans kids, is a fucking moron.

While I support treatment for all kids, the idea of making permanent changes to them should be approached with extreme caution. Like anyone else, reconstructive surgery is one thing, but elective surgery is another.

Recently I watched "Elsbeth" with Julia Fox. She looked a little freaky with oversized lips. I looked her up and she not only admits to a lot of cosmetic surgery but also regrets it. There's little chance of turning back in many cases, especially with sex changes. We've all read stories of Hollywood stars regretting their plastic surgery or having botched surgeries. If adults can have these regrets, why allow a child to make such decisions?
