Collective ownership ALWAYS means ownership by the king or dictator - always.

Parents are not forced to send their kids to public schools. As individualists they can home school. Trying to force your own standards on a public school is the farthest thing from individualism. It is collectivism.

Sending your kids to public school is collectivism. It certainly isn't rugged individualism that relies on no one else.

The funniest part of this is that in Florida it is the STATE that is deciding and the STATE is run by conservatives. Are you finally catching on that conservatives are not individualists but some of the worst collectivists?

We had to fight VERY hard to gain the right to educational freedom for our children. You totalitarians did all you could to ensure that public school unions maintained absolute power over parents, but civic action, parents reestablished this level of freedom.

Public schools are community based - not ruled by Washington, nor even states. Parents are the boss, not the state. We've seen over the last few years that public schools mistakenly believed that they were rulers and that children belonged to the state. We have shown them - YOU - that you're wrong. Civic services are not socialism. TRADITIONALLY education in America was communities banding together to provide an education to children. Sadly, statists have infected and corrupted education, creating actual socialized education.

I'm all for disbanding the socialized public education system. It's failed at educating children and exists purely to wage war on American culture.
