Everyone agrees that Revelations is symbolic.

While it is indeed serious it will only apply to a very small amount of people who will live through it.

Not the majority of us.

One hundred billion people have lived and died on this planet so far and those in the end times are mostly going to be dead.

The ones experiencing Revelation, who have survived, are going to be small, that is why it's largely irrelevant.

The problems with the subdermal chip idea are serious. The first major problem is that the chip is disposable, i.e. it has a very short lifespan. Emplacement might eventually become trival, like giving oneself an injection, but the removal will always need to be overseen by a medical professional.

Also, if you have such a chip emplaced, it will be a simple matter for scam artists to pass a portable scanner near your chip and collect a payment of which you are not even aware.

Additionally, you will be placed on Satan's email distribution list, and once you're on, you can't ever get off, except from the regular porn that you will begin receiving.

My wife is very much a traditional Christian. Recently we were discussing the nature of Lucifer. She sees Lucifer more in terms of Revelations, lake of fire, eternal damnation, etc. I see Lucifer as God's prosecutor as depicted in Job. Lucifer serves a purpose for God; the alternative in a dichotomic universe with God/Light on one side and Lucifer/Darkness on the other to facilitate Free Will.

People can't exercise Free Will if there aren't choices. What came up during our discussion was that, to have free choice, Lucifer can't force anyone to do anything. People have to choose the Darkness. I mentioned that Lucifer is like a vampire. Vampires can't enter a house without an invitation. Lucifer can't force or trick people into evil because God wouldn't let that happen. People have to choose it willingly. Free Will.

An exception are the wackadoodles and the stupid. Only God knows what are their choices and what is beyond their capability to choice.

Revelations is symbolic, it's not meant to be taken literally therefore the mark of the beast could mean anything.

We weren't meant to understand revelations, it is simply the ending of the story and irrelevant to the journey of the Christian.
