We own a .22 and a .33 rifle. We are just not insane. Neither will I ever support the NRA or anything it has stood for in the past 30 years. Nobody wants to take your god damn guns away, you are being played for fucking chumps and you don't even know it. See post about the prices being artificially driven up.

You didn't read the article, did you? Also where does the Second Amendment say we can't have background checks? Also, wasn't there something about the need for a militia so we don't have a standing army? Last time I checked, we had a fucking standing army. Read your history dufus.

Also, do people on here not yet realize that no Republican will occupy the White House in the near future? The Republican party is a disaster. Yes, you can gerrymander and hang on to those few seats in the House for a while longer but this Tea Party monstrosity that you created has brought your house down. 22% of Californians are registered Republicans. By my count, that's not even a quarter. In the really conservative Central Valley, in Republican Jeff Denham's district, more people voted for Obama than Romney. In the Central Valley!

I don't think the background checks are bad.

1) Require them for dealers... done
2) Require them for dealers at gun shows... done
3) Require them for internet sales... done
4) Require them for private sales... this is the one that isn't done... unless the government is willing to open up the data base and not charge for the search, then you cannot require this. Especially for rural areas as it would force them to find a dealer and pay the dealer for the background check.

didn't you just completely lose putting background checks through even though a bunch of kids got shot in the face? Guns are here to stay. get used to it. 300 million, one per every person in the nation. They aren't going anywhere.

everyone has. you can post about it, show an article every now and then, but the political capital and will simply isn't there. No one lists gun control anywhere close to the top of their most important issues. That's just the facts on the ground.

a background check is the equivalent of a poll tax. both are unconstitutional.

the ironic thing is though, no one has a constitutional right to vote. we DO have a constitutional right to guns. One could argue that constitutionally, paying for background checks is objective worse, and objectively more unconstitutional than poll taxes.
