I think there is a valuable lesson in teaching people about not making themselves fit the profile of a potential victim. Don't dress a certain way (and don't get drunk/high at high school parties), or some asshole jocks might rape you. The idea being, the rapists are out there and may rape someone when the opportunity presents itself, but you can reduce the risk to yourself of being that victim. Of course, teenagers never listen to sound logic and reason, which just leaves prayer...

The point I am trying to make is that what would have been called sexual assault previously has now been redefined as rape, at least in Ohio anyway.

While there are different reasons for rape, and different motivations for it, the primary reason almost always comes down to control or dominance.

we already know that howey says being prepared for eventualities like being a crime victim is basically living in fear which, according to him, is a purely rightwing based position. One would hope that this incident would change some minds.

I have often heard that it is a crime of anger, hatred etc. But I don't necessarily agree.

Couldn't one argue that it is just men who can't control their sexual urges? I mean we are told that kids need to be taught not to repress their sexual urges and that teaching abstinence is a bad thing. We are told that these kids can control themselves.

We are told that complaining about over sexualized lyrics, movies and television programs makes us prudes and throwbacks to the horrid 1950s. Yet one can't help but think that being exposed to sex in everything from music to soda commercials can't help but leave an impression on young minds.

It is after all just sex we are told by the left.

For the record I don't support these arguments. But I think they are a fair representation of arguments leftists have made regarding sexuality over the years (of course only when it suits their agenda)
