If you don't have symptoms and you don't go to a hospital, why would you think you're sick with coronavirus or anything, for that matter?

I think you are confused about what "mild symptoms" are. They are mild enough that you do not need to go to the hospital. That is otherwise known as normal flu symptoms. 20% need to go to a hospital. With the flu, almost everyone has normal flu symptoms, with only 1% needing to go to the hospital.

Depends on the flu strain. Some strains are very mild. And the NY Times, Washington Post, and pretty much the entire rest of the media you take your cues from are all on the record confirming that the flu is worse than COVID. Can't lie your way out of it now that it's what you WANT to be true.

So the flu has 99% having few or no symptoms. Even with good treatment, 1% of Covid-19 patients will die, while less than 0.1% of Covid-19 patients will die.
