Gov. Ron DeSantis has called critical race theory a “Marxist” ideology that has no place in public schools. But a top official in his administration had previously taken a very different stance.

Eric Hall, who DeSantis recently appointed to head Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice, used critical race theory as the bedrock of his 2014 dissertation examining alternative schools. Hall, who finished the dissertation while completing his doctorate at the University of South Florida, wrote that critical race theory was a good “framework” to study racial inequities in the public education system.

Btw, that "school-to-prison PRIDE garbage is what caused the Parkland massacre.

They didn't softball violent juvenile offenders in my day. Marianna is where they went. Cruz should have been in Chattahoochee.

OMG. He calls it the stop woke act. This is an elected governor telling people it is better to be misinformed, putting down being informed.

Making subjects of learning illegal is tantamount to book burning.

We need to study and learn from America's racial issues so that we may best figure out how to ease them going forward.

Every school should be teaching about our racial history.

DeSantis is a racist.

That was before it came onto Tucker Carlson's radar.

It was Carlson who taught the right to hate CRT.

That happened AFTER Hall studied it.

How was he supposed to know at the time that this would turn into such a boogie man dog whistle for the right?

That was before Trump took over the Republican Party and made it fully racist.
