Top DeSantis official embraced critical race theory in dissertation

Gov. Ron DeSantis has called critical race theory a “Marxist” ideology that has no place in public schools. But a top official in his administration had previously taken a very different stance.

Eric Hall, who DeSantis recently appointed to head Florida’s Department of Juvenile Justice, used critical race theory as the bedrock of his 2014 dissertation examining alternative schools. Hall, who finished the dissertation while completing his doctorate at the University of South Florida, wrote that critical race theory was a good “framework” to study racial inequities in the public education system.

Anyway... a common practice in college among students is to write papers that are pure drivel but will please the professor and get you a good grade. It worked for Jill Biden for her doctorate, so why not this guy too?

It was his PhD dissertation. A dissertation is something one willingly chooses and spends at least a couple years researching and writing about.

I know literally hundreds of people who wrote Master's theses or PhD dissertations, and not a single one invested years of their lives to write pure drivel to ingratiate themselves with professors.

So? How many PhD dissertations actually amount to anything other than getting the writer a degree? My Master's (in military history--I was doing it more for fun that anything) thesis was 72 pages long on electronic warfare in WW 2, and I wrote the whole thing in a matter of a couple of weeks using books and sources I owned. Again, so?
You ever read Jill Biden's PhD dissertation? It's drivel. Half of it is nothing but fluff.
