My theory is that "normal" people back away from irrational behavior. Applying the "birds of a feather" theory, irrational minds flock with other irrational minds and rational minds group with rational minds.
While the polite thing to say is "Well, it's just a difference of opinion", going below that surface quickly reveals who is being rational and who is not.
While you and I can agree or disagree on what's most "rational" about reducing COVID deaths, it's important that we both use sound reasoning to support our arguments. Those who use wackadoodle logic/sources (e.g. Tucker "No one takes him seriously" Carlson) are being irrational.
Circumstances matter. A perfectly logical and well educated parent and spouse may not be quite so logical if their spouse or child was endangered. That's just a specific, short-term instance, not one that runs four fucking years and then some.
The people pushing the "Big Lie" are, IMHO, stupid, insane or lying. In the case of JPP members, most appear to be stupid or mentally handicapped which means trying to reason with them isn't going to work since they are unable to correct themselves.
