Truck Convoy Drives on Capital Beltway in Protest

The good old days when conservatives were actually conservative? Stood for things? Had ideas instead of conspiracy theories? Were able to think?

I barely remember those days.

Really. They even had two opinion writers with actual intelligence, education, and principles -- Buckley and Wills. They'd be called RINOs now, of course. Talking heads spouting Qrazytalk is what they have now.

I wonder about these same questions Dutch.

My theory is that "normal" people back away from irrational behavior. Applying the "birds of a feather" theory, irrational minds flock with other irrational minds and rational minds group with rational minds.

While the polite thing to say is "Well, it's just a difference of opinion", going below that surface quickly reveals who is being rational and who is not.

While you and I can agree or disagree on what's most "rational" about reducing COVID deaths, it's important that we both use sound reasoning to support our arguments. Those who use wackadoodle logic/sources (e.g. Tucker "No one takes him seriously" Carlson) are being irrational.

Circumstances matter. A perfectly logical and well educated parent and spouse may not be quite so logical if their spouse or child was endangered. That's just a specific, short-term instance, not one that runs four fucking years and then some.

The people pushing the "Big Lie" are, IMHO, stupid, insane or lying. In the case of JPP members, most appear to be stupid or mentally handicapped which means trying to reason with them isn't going to work since they are unable to correct themselves.

Agreed. Anyone who doesn't toe the Trumpian line is now a "RINO".

Yeah, they are following the political science. Better let folks out now or they will remember by the time November rolls around! But those 5 year olds... The ones that need to see faces to learn to speak correctly... Better keep them masked up!

That particular cruelty is STILL being argued for by government social workers.

Biden can't erase the Church of Covid or the cost of the mandates. He can't erase the shortages everywhere either, all the result of his (and Democrat) policies.

It's over correction: Trump fucks the nation by hiding COVID and downplaying common sense pandemic measures, hundreds of thousands of Americans die from something "No worse than the Flu" and now we've overcorrected into going nuts on it. It's confusing all the idiots on the backside of America's IQ and Education Bell Curves.

That's a basic analysis of the current population: confused.

'Expert' worship. Trump didn't hide covid19. The Democrats tried to ignore it for awhile, until they learned they could control whole economies with it. It is Democrats that shut the economy down, not Trump. It is Democrats that overreacted, not Trump. It is Democrats STILL pushing for mask and vaccine mandates today, not Trump.

TDS. Bigotry. Inversion fallacy. Paradox M. Paradox V. Denial of history. Denial of microbiology.

:rofl2:

Isn't it amazing how surgeons and OR nurses can manage to wear masks through surgeries that last for hours and never once faint from lack of O2? What on Earth triggered that COPD bimbo to go on a mask rant?

Class 1 medical masks do not block viruses. They are absolutely useless for that purpose.

Masks can and do harbor bacteria and fungi. Long term use of them is not recommended. Surgeons and nurses generally do not spend more than a couple of hours in the operating room without either completing the surgery or going out on shifts to replace masks. Long surgeries are done in stages for this reason as well. When someone spends 'ten hours in surgery' after an accident, it is not a single surgery. It is several of them in quick succession.

N95 masks do not stop any virus either. They are utterly useless for that purpose.

Paradox M.

One problem with the "follow the science" schtick is that a certain political party in this country has gone out of its way to denigrate our top scientists, physicians, epidemiologists, virologists, public health experts, and so on. How can we expect citizens to "follow the science" when they think that Cousin Bob's Facebook posts about taking horse dewormer are "science," but actual data from the CDC is "fake news"? How would you dispel this nonsense and encourage citizens to trust actual scientists again?

There is no science here.

There is no data either. The CDC data is fake data.

Science isn't a government agency, data, website, rumor, scientist, or any group of scientists. It is not people at all.

Science is a set of falsifiable theories. That's it. That's all.

Geezus. Remember the good old days when conservatives believed in minding your own business?

I carry a small thing of pepper spray in an outside pocket of my purse for just such nonsense. Thankfully we live in a very polite society up here where ppl really DO mind their own business. When masks were mandated indoors, I saw maybe 2 or 3 ppl without them, despite the fact that every single news story about the pandemic on our local social media was filled with outraged Reichtards screaming about "tyranny" and "fascism" over the mandate.

Paradox M. Mask mandates are tyranny. Make no mistake about that!
